Why not? Cuz they kicked Dave portnoy out? Big deal.

Now if they kicked out the mayor of flavortown, I’d probably stay away

It takes a special kind of stupid to kick Portnoy out from your front porch for filming without a permit when he's doing a pizza review....

Wife and I tried Andiamo Pizzeria the week that Dave reviewed it.

IT WAS PACKED!

Owners told us that they normally went through 100 doughballs daily.

After the rave review, they started going through 400!

The pizza was legit.  Great flavor on the cheese and the sauce.  Is one of our favorites.

We are waiting to try the pizza at Trevor's Liquor next.

Hector, I'm happy to hear that. When El Presidenté said he was about to change their lives, I knew he meant that.

The owner told us that Dave asked them if that was all the staff they had.  He replied, "Yes".

Dave told them he would need to hire more staff.  He didn't believe him 100%.

He knows now how mistaken he was.

When we went, the small staff was running on fumes.  Utterly, completely exhausted.

It's been several weeks since Andiamo Pizzeria has "temporarily closed".

Hopefully they are doing the remodel that they originally planned, but you never know.

We tried Trevor's Liquor last week and again yesterday.

The first trip really didn't live up to the hype. (I prefer Andiamo's)

They are better prepared for larger volume in sales and the actual place is vibrant and fun.

That said, their oven was too hot, which gives the pizza its charred look and flavor, but the base can still use more time.

Plus, they use way too much flour on the pizza peel, which stays on the pizza's undercarriage.

.

Yesterday was better.  Good crust, decent sauce, quality ingredients.  They still had excess flour stuck on the bottom.

I don't remember who all recommended Bravo Americano in Globe but we made time to eat there on our way thru and it was amazing. We tried 4 pizzas and a pasta, everything was really good and had great flavor. We will definitely go  back when we pass thru and it is during business hours, we usually travel thru there after they are closed for the day.

Brutal.  This is unfortunate.

Crazy how a review can create so much in a positive or negative light.

Is andiamo the one he reviewed in Tucson?

We were up a few weeks ago and the one he reviewed was penalty closed.

In one of his reviews he mentioned time market on university so we got one there and from Brooklyn pizza around the corner on 4th Ave.  My household gave the edge to Brooklyn pizza.

I'm gonna have to get a fresh Brooklyn and rosattis and do a side by side

Has lunch at Pomo Pizzeria in Scottsdale on Friday.  This is their Burratella pizza.  Excellent IMHO.

Ahhh, it was "squared up" he reviewed that Google says is now permanently closed.  It was a Sicilian style place.  Made me wonder though if they just said they're permanently closed cuz they're that busy or if they actually were closed I was thinking about driving by just to see... But I caught the number and it didn't work so..
