Yuma Outdoorsman Report post Posted June 28, 2022 It is seasonal, but in the winter there is a guy in Quartzsite that makes killer buffalo burgers. The name is Randy's Burgers. He used to open up a shop at Stone Cabin (25 miles south of Quartzsite) and sell burgers and all sorts of souvenirs but the windows and door got all busted out of the old building there so he just sets up shop in Quartzsite every winter. I don't know if the burgers are really that good or if hunting most of the day and running in for a burger makes them taste better than they are but dang its good eating. If you have never experienced a January day in Quartzsite, you will meet some interesting people and be able to eat some really good food. It is a pretty happening town in the winter. Corwintrop Report post Posted November 21 I still miss the Byron chain in London—those burgers were top-notch! If I’m ever back, that’s my first stop.I’ve had my fair share of great burgers, but making them at home is where it’s at for me. About 7 ounces is my another sweet spot —enough to get a good sear without overcooking. Toppings totally depend on my mood, but avocado and tomato are regulars. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with adding a little organic whey protein powder to the mix. It’s a sneaky way to boost the protein, and you don’t even notice it in the flavor. NOTAGS Report post Posted Sunday at 09:26 PM Just had the green chili bacon cheeseburger at Gilligans in Mayer today . May have been the fact I was dang hungry from chasing quail all morning, but a pretty good loaded up griddle burger. Fries were good as well. Not my favorite, but now on the regular radar for future trips…
