matthewp45 Report post Posted January 3, 2005 I took my first big coues deer Saturday. he was scored by Clay at Mogollon Taxidermy at 109 3/8". He was chasing does all over the mountain when we found him. I got a picture through the spotting scope before I took him. I got with in 300 yards and waited for a good shot. One shot with my 280 and he was down. What a way to start the New Year !!!!!!! (Hopefully the pics show up) Pictures are down at the bottom now

Dan H Report post Posted January 4, 2005 My apoligies Newbie,..As you may have thought <> I do not keep up with the reservations regulations. Can't afford to hunt there or I would. Thanks, Dan
matthewp45 Report post Posted January 4, 2005 I can't afford it either, a man I do business with bought it for me. It was great to go hunt for coues with no one else around though. Probably saw 35-40 bucks. average buck around 80. This buck was in Rut, but it was different in each area. Some spots the does did not have any bucks. Others were being chased all over the mountain. It was a hunt of a life time for me. Matt
