KGAINES Report post Posted October 17, 2008 The leverevolution bullets would be my first choice, after that cor-bon https://dakotaammo.net/shop/product_info.ph...products_id=201, buffalo bore hasn't came out with their round just yet, but it is advertised. https://www.hornady.com/shop/?ps_session=6d...8b6f2d1f845cb05

Coues Archer Report post Posted October 17, 2008 what is that supposed to mean. SINGLESHOT!
singleshot Report post Posted October 17, 2008 You are not limited to round nosed or the new Leverevolution ammo in a bolt action or singleshot rifle. If you handload for a 30-30 there are numerous bullet options available. I load the 125 grain NBT's and am pleased with the performance at the range and on deer, javelina etc. Makes a great load for the kids.

Chef Report post Posted October 18, 2008 Leverevolution is the way to go. Great ballistics and performance. My rifle loves them and they group 1 1/2" at 100 yards, through an 18 1/2" barrel. To add to singleshots' comments, yes, you can shoot a hard-nosed pointed bullet in the chamber but NEVER put hard-nosed pointed bullets in the tubular magazine of a lever action rifle. The nose makes contact with the primer of the bullet in front of it and could ignite the round upon recoil. This is what Leverevolution ammo is intended do... achieve the ballistics of a pointed bullet while still being able to load safely into a tubular mag. Hence the soft nose. Here's a post on the topic a while back... http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...ic=3565&hl=
