If you are looking for a group to camp with that provide some good activities for kids this is a good one! They usually get some speaker to come for presentations about wildlife, archaelogy, forestry, fishing or whatever. It's generally geared toward people that don't camp alot and want to learn more about it, but even seasoned campers can enjoy going on these trips. A GREAT WAY TO SPEND THE WEEKEND. Know Your Resources Workshop Lower Salt River - Pebble Beach Recreation Area Know Your Resources is a series of overnight family friendly camping adventures designed to introduce participants to camping and recreation areas in Arizona. Your registration fee covers the campground costs, all food and activities. The Lower Salt River runs through beautiful canyon walls several hundred feet high and offers solitude for many birds, including one nesting pair of bald eagles. Coyotes and Javelina abound. The water originates deep below the surface of Saguaro Lake, and runs cold and clear with schools of bluegill, largemouth and smallmouth bass and rainbow trout stocked by Game and Fish. Turn right onto Bush Highway and drive past Saguaro Lake to the Pebble Beach Recreation Area. Bear left into the Larry B Forbis Group Camp Site From Mesa:Take US 60 or SR 202 to Power Road. Travel north on Power (which becomes Bush Highway) and go to the Pebble Beach Recreation Area.
