gnoto Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Spent the weekend in 36A. Saw well over 50 Coues Sunday late. Got back in ther Monday and found them sunning themselves on an Eastern slope. There were a few small 3x's. What got my interest wasa the size of the Does. The lead 1/2 dozen were larger then any coues doe i have ever seen. I think this is very favorable for the next few years production! Saw a few pigs. Some were quite large. no packs one's and two's.
ConnXion Report post Posted January 18, 2005 Finally got lucky this weekend!!! Scored on two boars Sunday nite down in 36. This was the only heard we saw in three days of intense glassing. I put a sneak on and took a shot at 30 yards and they ran right where my buddy was and he got his at 10 yards. Awesome weekend and my first with a bow. Stanley I think we saw you pulling out on Sunday afternoon.

couesdiehard Report post Posted January 19, 2005 gnoto; Where were you in 36A. Sunday I was in 36A off the Batamote Rd. I saw a couple of camps set up. One had a plate sign and the other had at least a dozen coyote pelts hanging. Were you one of these camps? I was in the white Suburban. I saw a herd of about 20 pigs running like all get out and one coues doe. No shots. Spent Sunday evening and all day Mon. in 36B. Only saw 2 coues forkies and a dozen or so does. The forkies were both chasing single does but never saw any big boys and never got a shot. Never saw pigs in B either. Lee

stanley Report post Posted January 21, 2005 Connxion, congrats on the archery pig! Let me know how your scouting goes this weekend. I may be out there as well.... I'm in the same situation as you; my son has the 36 Jr. hunt as his first big game hunt as well. We've been doing some scouting, and I think I've got a pretty good spot or two. I'm really going to try hard to get him into some pigs!! I'll send you a PM soon and we can exchange scouting reports. Good luck! S.
