CouesPursuit Report post Posted December 15, 2021 How about some coues deer posting! Finally got a late tag in one of my favorite units. Opening weekend had several easy passes and I had time to get a few in the spotter. With the big guys absent, the small 3x3s were bachelored up with lots of sparring. The mulies were solo. It looks like 3 more days of weather and a full moon coming just before Christmas. CouesPursuit Report post Posted December 17, 2021 To the December rifle tag knowledgeable, what behavior have you experienced throughout the 3 weeks and what do you think explains it? Even if the rut isn't kicking off, it has always seemed like mid-December was a period of increasing day activity for deer. CouesPursuit Report post Posted December 17, 2021 Found him at noon, I didn't think he was alone and the setup was solid so I gambled waiting him out at 500 yards for a few hours. At 3:30 on the dot, his clone gets out of bed just above him, impossible to have been seen. The pressure and frustration of having to glass these little bedded coues bucks is one-of-a-kind. Every day I was on bedded deer - they got up at 3:30. One of the mulies stretched at 2 and laid right back down until 3:30 also. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
