Game and fish figured out a long time ago that there is a gold mine out there just waiting to be had called application fees.

Sneaker Report post Posted November 20, 2021 Man the draw odds on these will be so low I feel like the department is just stealing from addicts that can’t help themselves. Like a casino. A lot like the super raffle I guess.

Flatlander Report post Posted November 20, 2021 6 x $13 x 250000 (or however many hunting licenses they sell per year) = A lot of dang potential revenue. I much prefer this to other things that have been proposed over the years.

AZBIG10 Report post Posted November 20, 2021 They should gift the proceeds to critter groups
azelkhunter2 Report post Posted November 20, 2021 All the auction tag money goes back to the department....A committee of both department personal and representatives of each critter group decide what projects get funding... I would hope that whatever monies created from this go into the ground for habitat restoration....
azelkhunter2 Report post Posted November 20, 2021 The large critter groups make enough money from fundraising to do whatever they want....No need for Department money

Guest akaspecials Report post Posted November 20, 2021 Does anyone feel like 6 tags is just the start? The AZGFD article says "A total of six limited-entry permit-tags (two for each of the three species) were recommended for this initial draw". Only ten days announcement; this isn't a fundraiser, this is testing the waters to see what they can get away with... auctions will be here soon enough. They'll find a way to siphon off more tags to the rich if we aren't vocal. We are slowly going the way of Utah (and California) and I'm not particularly fond of it....
