Recommended Posts

IS THERE ANY ONE WHO HAS A GOOD LOAD FOR THE 7MM STW. I PLAN TO USE IT NEXT YEAR ON A COUSE HUNT.

The stw is a necked down 8mm mag. I have a friend who loves this caliber. That is all he will shoot at deer. Long, flat round. He uses the 140 grain nosler ballistic tip and has killed a few coues at some long ranges with it. I shoot a .280 and have loaded a ton of bullets for it. Nosler just came out with a 140 gr accubond bullet. I have loaded a lot of .284 and this bullet is awesome. The ballistic coefficient is really high. It is very accurate as well. I would highly recommend it.

that 7mm stw is real comparible to the 7mm rem ultra mag ,the recoil is a killer but its a coues killer at long range, real flat shooting, sight it in at 250 and the hold over is only like 25inches at 500, or close to that ,

Hi,

I really like my STW. I'm now playing with loads that I got off the www.reloadersnest.com tons of loads! My friend has a Christensen Arms rifle in the STW as do I now. He shoots a Nosler B.T 150 with AA8700 80grains fed 215 primers A.O.L 3.65 around 3375speed ( this is a custom rifle load so start lower then 80 grains and work up). I have found that the Nosler's CT Bullets shoot beter then the copper bullet because of the luba-lox on the bullet. You can also look at loads at reloading powder sites like Alliant Powders RL22. Please remember to start 3 grains or so lower then max!!

I FOUND I GUY ON THE BUCK MASTERS WEB. HE IS OF 2 J OUTTFITTERS IN TEXAS. HE LOVES THE 7 MM STW, HE'S GOT A LOAD THAT 3500 FPS 2" HIGH AT 100YRDS 18" LOW AT 500YRDS. 140 GR BULLET. HE ALSO HAS A WILDCAT HE MAKES CALLED HOT TAMALE --.257 IN A 7MM STW CASE, SHOOTS VERY FLAT TOO.

THIS MEANS THAT IF A COUES IS ON THE AVERAGE 14"TO 18" THE LATTER ON THE LARGE SIDE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HOLD AT THE TOP OF HIS BACK OR JUST ABOVE AT 500 YRDS. THIS WOULD BE DEAD ON.

THANKS BLASERMAN
