SilentButDeadly Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Took my first bull elk in unit 8 yesterday morning. Got in this afternoon, been unloading gear and cutting meat till now. Tough 9 days, bulls were quiet due to the Harvest moon. Things improved the last couple of days. Took a hint from GRONG and found this guy with a couple young bulls and a couple cows yesterday morning. Sorry for the short story, but here are the pics (they say 1000 words!) Me He broke off his 5th, but I'm not complaining! Heavy Twisted pedicle Only Coue's shed of the trip -- bout a 90 incher I'd guess Shed pile from miles and miles of walking Whose straw hat is uglier? I'm going with GRONG's

Red Rabbit Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Good job Tyson. Glad to hear that they finally cleared their throats to sing for you. I was out in 8 this weekend helping a friend Sunday morning. They were bugling just outside of camp all Saturday night. A sweet sound. Was pretty quiet Saturday morning around Amanda's camp. Hopefully the choir boys will start for her soon. SilentButDeadly Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Anybody got any guesses on how much it costs to just have a cape done? I want to wait on doing a mount (money-wise) but I want the option down the road. I called Weller's this morning and they said they could do it, but I never asked a price. I've heard some places would prefer you pony up for mount before they'll do your cape.

IHunt2live Report post Posted September 23, 2008 If you had to couldn't you just keep the cape in the freezer before its taned?
