SNAKE!!!

Recommended Posts

That was the first time I have ever eaten snake, and I must admit it was pretty dang good!

I might have a hard time letting a decent size rattler go from now on.. Might become table fare!

Casey,

Next time, fillet the thing along the backbone.

You will see you get nice long strips.

Like DB said, batter and fry.

It comes out very delicious served with any sauce you like for dipping.

Nice to see you tried it though.

It might have tasted good, but it had to be tough. Try a little prep, marinade, slow cook ect and it will improve texture.

Hector,

The Ribeyes were fantastic. Good balance of Garlic salt/pepper, and I could still feel the pulse... MMMMMM

I know what ya mean about fileting along the back bone. Seems like it might be a little work though? I enjoyed picking the meat off of the back bone.

That will not be the last time I eat rattle snake... Plus, the skin turned out really well and looks good on the wall!

I would think that would be a point in his favor, it is definitely not some soy burger or even a veggie burger.

Casey did you shoot the snake or just smack it with a rock or stick, because nobody will get on you about a head shot on this one.

The problem is he went for the head shot and made the perfect heart lung shot...go figure!

Boy does that look good Casey. Makes me want to go snake hunting but I think I'll wait till I just run across the next one out hunting. :)

I usually just use a .22 pistol, it has killed everyone I ever shot and cost a lot less to shoot!
