bigorange Report post Posted September 30, 2021 Starting to shop gun safes again…what’s everyone recommend? Any to avoid?
ctafoya Report post Posted September 30, 2021 I have two Yukon gold(browning) safes. Mechanical locks. I don't trust battery powered stuff. Get a bigger safe then what you currently need.
oz31p Report post Posted September 30, 2021 Livery is the only safe I will ever consider
Bucks&bulls Report post Posted September 30, 2021 I have a Champion safe that I really like. We had a break in a few years back and the thieves tried to pry the door open and tried to pry up the safe too! Have it anchored very well…they didn’t mess with it much and moved on to other things. It has a few small paint chips from whatever they used but that’s no big deal to me. It did it’s job!
Crazymonkey Report post Posted September 30, 2021 Like others have said buy the biggest you can .I've got a liberty and a different brand not sure the make but one is a 48 gun and holds much less especially if you have scopes.
stanley Report post Posted September 30, 2021 +1 regarding getting larger than you think you need, if possible. Safes are like tents, IMO. When was the last time you saw a "4 man" tent that would actually fit 4 guys??? 🙄
Couescrazy33 Report post Posted September 30, 2021 Champion makes a great safe. Bigger bolts, longer fire rating. Get bigger than you need and no matter what, bolt it to the foundation.
n2horns Report post Posted September 30, 2021 Amsec / American Security, Fort Knox then Liberty. If you can swing the coin, a Graffunder is sweet.
PRDATR Report post Posted September 30, 2021 Get one with no gaps around the door so they can't insert a pry bar and get one with an alarm.
HuntHarder Report post Posted September 30, 2021 I've got cannon and liberty. I think both accomplish what I'm after. No matter how big you get, you'll need another soon enough. I keep putting more and more in them.
JiminAZ Report post Posted September 30, 2021 Another Liberty fan here. I think Liberty makes the Browning safes BTW. To my mind the Liberty safes are about at the sweet spot of cost/value.

bigorange Report post Posted October 3, 2021 I went back and checked several Costco emails and the website and I’m not finding it. Good timing though Spartan Safe is having a grand opening sale in Tucson in 2 weeks…
