Red Tailed Hawk vs. Bull Snake

Recommended Posts

My brother was out helping a friend on an elk hunt last weekend and they came upon these two all tangled up. He said that it looked like the bull snake was winning and the hawk was pretty muck choked down and not long from death. He removed the bull snake and after the hawk recovered for a while he screeched at them and then took off and flew away. It is amazing what you run into when out in the wild.

There's a once in a lifetime. I have to admit, I would have let the snake have it's way. Big believer of nature taking it's course. I don't fault anyone who did what your brother did. Personal preference.

that is really neat to see and good photography to boot. I don't think the snake would have been able to eat the hawk, but he sure taught it a lesson about picking on somebody that is tougher than you.

I don't think that snake could have eaten that hawk could it? Awesome pics who would have thought a bull snake would kick a hawks butt UFC STYLE! Tap out hawk forget your pride and live to fight another day! LOL!

I would have saved the hawk and beat the heck out of the snake until it as casey would say (fall asleep in its own tomato soup). I hate snakes even if they are important in our circle of life. I would rather see a red tail hawk floating in the breeze high along a cliff top than a snake crawling on its belly across the road.

Hey i like the swear protection because i did not say the heck out of the snake but i did say the heck out of the snake. See what i mean. I LIKE THAT. One of the other forums i am on had to do that as well because the language got very bad not jut words like heck and shoot.
