What rifle was this made for?

Recommended Posts

I bought the scabbard from a friend about 15 years ago along with some other assorted horse tack that belonged to his relative who had passed.

I figure between the maker in the Patton date somebody here would know what rifle it goes to.
My guess was something like a 3040 Krag.

Obviously, the straps are not original. I put those on.

With all the firearms historians on the site, I’m sure I’ll get a definitive answer.

So what do you think?

Yup. Went on the Harley Liberator. Wondering if that's a bayonet Scabbard attached.

The metal part was a pocket for the operating handle, i.e. 'bolt. ' Same for the carbine model.
