SilentButDeadly Report post Posted September 2, 2008 I forgot to bring my key to the lock I put on my trail cam this weekend. I landed up having to steal it back from myself. Fortunately the owner had strapped it to a rotten mesquite branch, so all I had to do was break the branch apart and pull the cable locked camera up along it until it slid off the end. My question is, since I forgot the key, should I have left the locked camera in place? Its never good to steal, especially from yourself.
KGAINES Report post Posted September 2, 2008 It would have sucked for someone to watch you do it, especially one who has had a cam stolen, and then try to explain the situation you were in.

TAM Report post Posted September 3, 2008 I once had one of my cameras locked to the base of a ponderosa pine with a python cable lock. I lost the key and had to drive back into Payson to buy a pair of bolt cutters to go back and get it. A few months later I found the key.

AZcoues_addict Report post Posted September 4, 2008 I've scratched my name into the base of a few of mine, that way I can later prove that they are mine if the situation arises. I also like the name thing, because if another theif steals it they'll have a hard time explaining to someone else who the person is with their name on the cam!
