PhxDT Report post Posted July 20, 2021 Does anyone know if I need a special permit for my kayak on Fool Hollow lake right now? I can't find anything on their website, except that the lake level is low. I just recall from a couple of years ago that a daily permit was needed. https://azstateparks.com/fool-hollow/explore/facility-information
bigorange Report post Posted July 20, 2021 Other than paying the day use fee to get into the state park there was no permit required when I was there a couple years ago.

Spent Sunday morning dredging up a few bass. The lake is very low. Went to Scott Reservoir Monday morning and it appears the lake is being drained. Lake was easily 10' down from three weeks ago. IMO, a fish kill is just beginning to happen. Many trout swimming on the surface, osprey were having a field day with herons pulling up the rear. Anybody know more on what's going on @ Scott reservoir?
idgaf Report post Posted July 20, 2021 If your fishing and use the west ramp. No fee. It's about a mile from my house so I go there quite often

twistzz Report post Posted July 20, 2021 You can’t get in the park without day use fee or an annual pass. Lake is low but you can still Kayak. Show Low has lots of water and there still stalking it. Have fun either way it’s raining right now - again

It's a reservoir and that the first place water is taken from. It was low in April. The lowest I've ever seen it for that time of year. Did catch more than a few big catfish.
