I woke up early to find the wind blowing hard in Tucson, thought o'great its going to be a windy day but to my suprise it was calm were I planed to hunt. I returned to the spot were I had seen a nice 80inch class buck and spoted him again. Him and his friend were on the move all moring changing directions a couple of times. I had to take long circle around the ridge a couple of times to try to keep up with then but I lost them about 8am. Stayed in that area till about 10am and things slowed down with ownly a few does sitings. All my homework was weighing on my head so I decided to head home. I was driving down the road at 50mph and something cought my eye, looks like a deer. I turn around, which I hardly do, and see it again, its was a deer but couldn't tell if it was a buck. I find a road about 250 yards down the road and pulled over. I start walking down the opisit ridge they were on and I got to were I thought they should be but didn't see anything. I was about to give up when a deer walks out from behind a tree at about 100yards, a small three point. Two other deer fallow, a fork and a spike. I sit down a watch as they walk along the ridge. They were moving pretty fast and I knew they were headed to shade. Luckly they found some nice shade trees 120 yards away and I watch them bed, the stalk was on. I used some very short catclaw bushes as cover and stalk within 30 yards were I ran out of cover. I know I had to make something happen there. I decided to draw my bow and try to make them stand. I grunted a few times and nothing happend. I then started yelling at them and that even took a few times before one stood up. The spike was the first to stand, big mistake. I had to thread the needle right over the top of a small bush. He was quartering away at a fairly sharp angle but being that close I decided to take a shot. I hit his neck taking out is jugular and spine which put him right down. I knew my truck wasn't that far away but to my suprise I saw it not 150 yards away.

Luck was on my side. Earler that day when I was trying to keep an eye on the ther bucks I found a horseshoe and I thought to myself, that will bring me luck if I pick it up. Sure enough it did.

I know this wasn't the most convetional coues hunt but thats the way it happened. I am still in disbeilf what i acualy did. Finnaly took one with my bow.
