A few more bucks

Well I was a little disappointed that I couldn't go out for the opening weekend due to my Sister and my wife's cousin choosing the opener as there weekend to come to town but after dropping them off at the airport Sunday, Casey and I made a quick dash to a place I thought would both be shaded and wind protected due to how hard the wind was blowing. Arrived right at 5:00 PM and immediately started finding deer. It started with an old doe about a hundred yards away from us just huffen and stompen at us. Around 6:00 PM the deer started coming out of every little cut. We found 20 deer with half of them being bucks. Most of the bucks were spikes but Casey located a group of 4 bucks a smallish 3x3, a really nice 3x2 with great eye guards and two spikes. Here's some video of the group. The first video is of the biggest buck - it's pretty unsteady as it was through my spotting scope with a hand held camera. You can still make out the nice frame he has and if you wait until the end you can see the nice eye guards. Hope you enjoy.

T'was a good time yesterday Larry!

 

I tell ya boys, that 3x2, if he can survive a couple years is gonna be a stud. He had a nice frame, with terriffic eyeguards! Larry and I were lookin at the film at his house upon arrival. There is one scene where he turns towards the camera. At the same time, we both let out a "Whoa, look at the eueguards!". He is gonna be a nice buck!

 

For some reason, I never took the Mathews after these bucks. Still dont know why
