My parents both retired from Maytag in Newton, Iowa and that was when they were built right and with pride! This one that is being sold is from the generation that was still built in Newton and is one of the good ones and not just "Maytag" by name, after Whirlpool bought them out and shut down the Newton plants and HQ. With this one being made in 2004, I probably know the folks who worked on it!
