Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted August 25, 2008 Pretty well shot out... and deep.... cat claw.... Snakes..... lots of cats..... Screw that!! I'm going to unit 32!!!! More and bigger deer!!!!!! Just my $.02.......
TAM Report post Posted August 25, 2008 Yep. Is it any good??? Lots of good vantage points to glass from! Medium to low deer population. Some parts of the canyon are either nearly inaccessable or totally inaccessable because of the steep terrain/cliffs/ledges. Glassing a deer on the oppisite side is one thing, but shooting it and recovering it is another story.
GRONG Report post Posted August 25, 2008 That's just one of those canyons that is just way to rugged and I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. Tons of snakes, year round too! Last time I was out there for just a little half-day look-around, I think I counted somewhere around 48 BIG rattlesnakes! Definitely not worth the trip....... grizzly Report post Posted August 25, 2008 Bowhunted it several years ago, as stated above very steep and rugged. Saw a few bucks but they saw me too. Found a decent lion kill in there, mid 80s. Good luck if that is where you decide.
fatfootdoc Report post Posted August 25, 2008 I hunted there on a Dec hunt and the problem is getting to the deer after you shoot it. Plan on long shots and lots(LOTS) of hiking. I never put in there again. We did see some deer though ag
