Crazymonkey Report post Posted January 28, 2022 Anyone in the industry will tell you modern is a high turn over shop and yes they do train to a degree but every single person that comes from there or cassavant would not make it a week in a real machine shop.ill take skilled help over the quality of most people that come from there.with 20 years in the trade myself I'd agree with the op in that being a good machinist is a dying trade.most of the work has gone to Mexico .SO for those that like to fly or drive your cars remember there parts are made by the lowest bidder and there is almost no quality in them anymore that's why we are always fixing our cars for stupid s##t that breaks .
