muley224 Report post Posted April 28, 2021 Just got back from the shed hunt. Only had a day and a half due to weather. Very sad drive off the plateau from the AZGFD check station down to winter range. All is burned. Oak corral is gone ! Almost down to the forest service cabins on the 22 rd. After 30 years of shed hunting the Bab, I finally found matching browns. 15 ft apart. Enjoyed some great Elk sirloins for dinner with my Good buddy George.

Delw Report post Posted April 29, 2021 Cool pics. glad you were able to make it up. that was the only sheds you found? did you try west of indian hollow in the sage and juniers? Years back on the road that comes from ferdonia going to big springs just as you pass the cattle guard theres a little bowl off the west side of the road. we used to find half dozen small sheds there every trip mostly small 3 and 4's wasnt bad for a 10 min hike

muley224 Report post Posted April 30, 2021 12 hours ago, wildwoody said: Think of the monsters that will be harvested in that new burn.. Most all of the Burn is at higher elevation than winter range. I think that most of the herd went north or south during the fire. The burn has zero cover. May be awhile till they return in there. All those canyons up top are bare.
