Predator Hunting Contest

Recommended Posts

Count me in. Where the hunt is and when might be an issue, but I will be there if I can. I'm not sure about the lose half a point for fur damage either. I think having a kitty is a good idea. It will add some importance other that brag'en rights.

I wondering the same as Casey was....why bother with a central check-in site? Why not just say what you got and back it up with photos? I suppose it's nicer to meet everyone, but my guess is you can get more participation if people don't have to drive a long way to meet up.

perhaps have a checkin for those that can make it and yet not make it mandatory? Let others from far away use photos to "check-in".

Sorry I have been slow on more input but my computer has been acting up,

What does everyone think about having check in and picture check in for those not with close or maybe 2 places to check in on southern part of the state and one northern? If you want to use a picture check in? how would you like it set-up

I think designating a location in a couple different parts of the state would be a good idea. Maybe one in the White Mountain area, I know there are a few of us up here. One in Flagstaff, the southern part of the state, and somewhere in the valley. That would still allow hunters to meet and help process pelts etc. Either way Im in, as long as its not during my archery bull hunt in Nov.

I think that would be a good way to go as well as maybe a photo check in as well, Who would be willing to pick a check in spot or two in the valley and northern part and southern part. I will do one around Sahuarita so maybe one north of Tucson as well? I have a couple of ideas that would help with a photo check in- call a number before you go out say between 2am and 7am with what is needed in the pictures besides something showing the date.

What do you think about that?

trapper,

well it is about liek i discribed at first, we take enteries at like 4:00 am sat morning, and give out the rules, and send everyone on there way, then we meet back that evening for check in, we devide the money we take in as entree fees and pay back out like 3 places (depends on amount of entrees) we also go out and collect some door prizes from who ever we can and we give out tickets to everyone that enteres and that evneing we draw for door prizes as well as give out the cash and we have plaques made up as well, we've debated on wither or not to have a 2 day deal or not but for now we've only had the one dayer. its been lots of fun, we had i think 5 teams the first year and then i think it was 14 last year, so hopeing for 20 or more this year as it grows a little. we generally try and have it the around the 1st part of dec. so that most fall hunts are over with and so we miss the "world calling contest" so there ya have it :)

People wishing to check in by photo will have a phone to call each day with rules on the pictures as well as posting them to the list. The phone number will be up with the rules between 3am and 7am each day and teams not calling between those hours will not be able to use photo check in. (We will also try and have several places around the state where we can meet as well)
