AzTrapper Report post Posted August 18, 2008 How many people on this list would like to have a predator hunting contest? If so what would you like as far as rules? 1 or 2 day with a common check only or have a common starting point as well etc. maybe then at the end a skinning contect? or cook out lets hear some ideas. Bill Report post Posted August 19, 2008 I'd be interested if it was held in cooler weather. Bill
Bucks_N_Yotes Report post Posted August 19, 2008 I would love to do it, when it cools down a little! When are you thinking? Open all over the state, targeting units, north or south? Only Coues Whitetail, or do you want to make it big and get others involved?
AzPacknHorns Report post Posted August 19, 2008 Count me in but lets wait till it cools down a little. As far as rules we should have a central location for sign ups as well as a way to do it on line for out of towners. If its a 2 day hunt have a check in time and location set up for saturday night, its a great time to all get togher and tell all our lies and meet new people, then have a final check in time on sunday. We could also have a point system for different animals coyote, fox, and cats. Thats how all the other contests have worked that i entered and it seemed to work pretty good. Just my $.

Just my $.02 Well you pretty much hit the nail on the head so to speak here are some ideas as for the rules. ( We would have to do it when IT'S cool so we don't waste fur. Let me know what you think of some of these ideas 2-3 person teams with at least one member has to be on the list. sign up on-line and check in a central location with check in hours somewhere between 7-11pm ( this give people a chance to hunt until dark) Point system for animals taken, with 1/2 the points taken away for any ruined animal fur wise. Check in on sunday somewhere between 5-8 again would everyone want to do it for fun or would everyone want to throw something into a kitty and then have some type of payout set up? what other things would everyone like to see? elkman Report post Posted August 19, 2008 I think we should kick in a few buck for each team to make it interesting. Maybe 50-100 per team and pay 1-2 place.??
Bucks_N_Yotes Report post Posted August 20, 2008 This is all sounding good, but I don't like the idea of loosing a half of an animals point value because you split it in half, somtimes it happens! It sound like if we are looking at doing this as a fur hunt, so its probly going to be in Nov. to Jan.? If we are going to do this as a fur hunt, how bout the profit from the pelts go back to CW. Lets get this hammerd out soon so their is time to plan it. Now to find a partner...........
Dan Report post Posted August 20, 2008 Count me and my son in!! Little kitty would be great . Fur won't be good till late Oct.
Coues&Coyotes Report post Posted August 20, 2008 I would be very interested but it would be depending on location of the check in and time of the hunt as I have to first concentrate on my daughters elk hunt and our whitetail hunt . Also only if Bird Dog (the original one on Coues as there are 2 now) was to be my partner. You up for it BD? I don't really care for the rule of losing points due to pelt damage as my 55grainers aren't very pelt friendly. I also feel it is probably necessary to have some sort of cost to enter as things like this tends to get expensive for whoever takes on the commitment. So let's see how this pans out. And just to wet the taste buds a little, I got this big male this afternoon on my second stand after calling for about 2 minutes. Enjoy.

Just wanted to be clear so you wasn't wondering who was asking to be your partner! Just kinda funny how you can get the same name with just one capital letter.
