Gotta be a bummer to go back to YUMA after being up in elk country!! At least he has his success to keep him cool in Yuma..... Amanda
matthewp45 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 You better believe it. It is nasty today but I don't think anybody would pass up this bull to stay cool.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted August 18, 2008 There have been some heavy thunderstorms and flood warnings near Valle and Cataract. A tornado touched down about 10 miles NW of Valle over the weekend. Hopefully the roads were not too bad where they were and the mud did not hamper activites.
matthewp45 Report post Posted August 18, 2008 They killed him yesterday evening and I know Robert got out with his trailer just fine so I don't think it hurt them very much.

Red Rabbit Report post Posted August 18, 2008 Matt, That is good to hear. On weather radar, it looked like the Tin house area in unit 10 was being major-league soaked.

azsagebrush Report post Posted August 18, 2008 Matt, That is good to hear. On weather radar, it looked like the Tin house area in unit 10 was being major-league soaked. Tusayan got just over an inch on Friday afternoon and Sat. evening. the roads are not bad at all on the rim road and the upper basin. i was shocked that the only water in the basin was at sand tank and there is not much there. i did not go to the 77 bar ranch or the tanks near the ranch. Jimhm Report post Posted August 18, 2008 I just wanted to say that Robert, his son Jake, his Grandson Caden, (hope I spelled that right) and Jake's cousin Clint, were an absolute pleasure to be around. They all are as down to earth and the nicest people you would want to meet. All of us in camp were impressed with the Dunn's. Sometimes you get a client that takes a nice animal and they don't seem to appreciate it and it makes you wonder in the back of your mind if they deserved that animal or not but with Robert, there was no question that he deserved that bull! There knowledge of hunting made it easy for the boy's to do their job as well and they did do a great job. They saw some great bull's and Robert was able to keep his finger off the trigger till he saw the one that he wanted. Congratulations Robert!! You deserved it!! On a side note, I want to thank Robert's wife, Mrs. Dunn for the best shrimp cocktail that we in camp had ever had. Jim is breaking down camp today and will probably come home tomorrow. matthewp45 Report post Posted August 19, 2008 The Dunn's are very good friends and Robert is probably the nicest guy I have ever met. I have been talking to Jake all day and he came home to tie up some loose ends so he was not there to witness the kill. He had told his dad not to shoot anything until he got back on Tuesday (Robert just smiled and said OK). Their whole family is on cloud nine. I could not think of a better guy to win the tag. Congrats to the Dunn's and the Mullins crew. I think an amazing time was had by all.
