Becker Report post Posted August 21, 2008 Redbeard, Just was wondering how a motion camera doesn't fall under an electronic device used for locating an animal. "By the use of electronic devices for attracting, locating or pursuing game or guiding the hunter to such game, or by the use of a bow or arrow to which any electronic device is attached." If this really is a discussion about ethics and the rules of fair chase....... That describes to me exactly what a motion camera is......everybody uses them to find animals that they might never know where there......How is that fair chase? Not saying that I don't use them but as I interpret the rules of Pope and Youngs Fair Chase motion cameras should not be used. Electronic devices should not be used for locating OR pursuing OR guiding a hunter to animals. To me if someone is using a motion camera then they are not following those rules for Pope and Young. Agree or disagree? Oh yeah, I wasn't trying to undermine your credibility..... I just was trying to start a discussion about whether motion cameras are or are not fair chase too, and how you would justify using them. Not attacking you personally, sorry if I came off that way

Maybe join bingo night and argue with some old blue hairs. Give it a rest... go do your honeydo list... bye
AZ Horn Hunter Report post Posted August 22, 2008 Holy cow,, I cannot believe what I have read for the last 2 hours . Becker ,, my friend you are either 15 years old or completely uneducated when it comes to hunting laws. You need to study before you come on here and rip someone. Redline 410 I am sure glad that you are a left wing voter because I do not want you on my side ... Spelling aside , which I am sure there are some errors. I know redbeard and I am happy to call him my friend. With that being said I also know that he is so ethical in evreything he does that it sometimes makes me ask myself ,,, but I understand how hard he works and what he does and did to get his animals and guide others to thiers. I think that he was simply trying to state how radios are completly legal in hunting AZ's game, but a hunter cannot enter it into pope and young ect. In using one of the sports biggest icons, it may have come off like an attack, but as he stated- Randy does not hide the fact nor does he enter his game into the books or ,(Chuck would be in trouble) I honestly believe that Redbeard was simply trying to inform and educate people about radios and fair chase and not trying to take down Randy Ulmer, but rather trying to let people know what counts and what does not. I really have no take on the subject except for the fact that I use radios when shed hunting and thats it. If a man or woman wants to use a RADIO on thier hunt to locate and harvest an animal,,,, fine,, but when the mule deer score 240" dont enter it into the books. bobbyo Report post Posted August 22, 2008 This thread has just gone beyond good and has become sublime. I am really LMAO. I mean gosh you guys really really take hunting seriously! The sound bites are so insolent and overbearing....." legitimate trophy...Ethical.... Fairchase...Undermine your credibility..... Slander their name.... my own personal standards.... Entering the record book..... Respect for not entering the record book.... Respect for the animal....Card carrying member......" What really cracks me up is the " I choose not to enter my 'trophy' in the record book." Like most of us really have a choice. Don't you have to actually kill a trophy sized animal first to get it in the book. There is many really nice deer pictured here, but how many would net out above BC minimums? P+Y minimums are too low for Arizona. Do people really pay the entry fee for a 72" coues or a 283" Bull? It also amuses me, how indignant some people got at Redbeard for using Mr. Ulmer as an example. Getting mad, like your first name was Rusty. Would there have been any response if he 'called me out'. " How does Bobbyo do it. Every year he kills a forky with character. I hear he may be aided by electronic devices." Don't think he would of gotten the same response. If this thread has gotten you in a tizzy I have some advice. Go out hunting tomorrow shoot the first deer you see. Yell like a caveman with joy. Say a little prayer and take a little nibble out of the heart. Hunting is suppose to be fun. Lighten up, Bob

Seems like he hit a nerve while making a good point about your bro greybeard. There is no reason for name calling, come on guys! All this thread has turned into is P*****g match now. Theres alot bigger subjects to worry about than if someone used a battery operated device on a hunt....lol. Redbeard, I can appreciate all you are saying and I have no problem with that. And yes people I have used radios on hunts and chances are always will.
