Guest old boy Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I've Hunted 32 in Nov. for the past four years. I've killed four bucks, two were nice, two were nice eating. There have been a couple scouting reports on the unit and they are pretty accurate. Go high and get away from major access points. Any roads leading into the unit are packed with other hunters. We backpack in and base camp for four or five days. I've got an October tag this year so I'm not going to give you too much info, or you'll be camping by me. Good luck! BACKCOUNTRY Report post Posted September 2, 2003 try going into upper Sycamore canyon approx: 5 miles up trail. (via deer creek trail head) I have harvested 3 bucks in this area over the last 5 years, ranging from 85 to 106 pts. hit mud springs by first light!!! Dont forget to try some of the lower elevations around Squaw canyon, the walking is steep, but the whitetail use this area alot. good luck, let us know how the scouting goes. Couesdeer Report post Posted September 23, 2003 You might want to check out Redfield Canyon. Every time I've been there, I've seen bucks. I don't think it gets near as much pressure as other parts of the unit. I drew the same tag and will be checking out a few spots this weekend.
