I wanted to give you a heads-up that I will be launching a new and much easier to use version of CouesWhitetail.com soon! I have been working with forum member Jay Park (aka jmp) to create a content management system that will allow users to easily look through the hundreds of photos in the photogalleries on the non-forum part of the site. You will be able to search photos, videos and hunt stories easily with defined "tags" that represent antler characteristics such as "droptine", "extra beam", "massive", or by score range such as "100-110", "120-130" or you can even search by hunt unit number (e.g., "36c", "23", etc).
This new site will be much easier for me to update and it will be much easier for you to submit your stories and photos. There is also a place where random photos from the site are displayed and when you see one you like, you can click on it and it will take you right to the article with more information and photos.
You will also be able to login using your regular forum login to post comments in the non-forum part fo the site. So let's say a new photo is added to the photogallery, you can then add a comment about it much like we all do in the current forum.
In addition to the regular photogalleries (rifle, archery, Mexico, San Carlos, etc), I have added a White Mtn Apache gallery and a CW.com sticker sighting gallery.
Anyway, Jay and I have been working hard on this new site and we hope you love it! Many thanks to Jay for his hard work over the last several months. He basically took all the content from the old site and entered it into the new site!
In the next few days we will be making the change over from the old site to the new one. There may be some time when you see some "funky" things going on with either the main non-forum part of the site or the forum. But bear with us as we get it all sorted out. I think you will all value the improvements and the transfer should all go pretty smoothly.
If you have posted a hunt story recently in the forum or expect to in the next few days, I suggest you also save a copy to your harddrive (just cut and paste it into a word document) just in case there is any loss of recent posts as we move the forum to a new server.
Hope you are all taking advantage of over the counter archery tags along with our much cooler monsoon weather!
Amanda
