  1. I have a .50 Pedersoli Kentucky flinter that needs the muzzle crowned. Can anyone point me toward a good to excellent gunsmith?
  2. I am looking for a gunsmith in Tucson, preferably east Tucson. I have a Christensen Arms Ridgeline 300WSM that needs bolt, ejector work. Please let me know any recommendations.

    Gunsmith Recommendation?

I have a friend that inherited some guns and would like to have them checked-out by a gunsmith before he fires them. I don't think any of them are very expensive guns. He's not a gun/hunting person, so a helpful person that would make a good impression on a non-hunter (and not a know-it-all jerk like some of these guys can be) would be good. Do you have any recommendations for someone that is somewhere near Central and Thunderbird, give or take, that I could refer him to? Thanks.
  4. Posted this in the campfire because the other related forums don't get a lot of traffic. Here's the scoop. I have a Cabela's right hand Hawken flint-lock. A couple years back I was shooting it with a friend and we determined a shot had not fired. After multiple attempts to clear the barrel with C02, and other means to clear the charge, I drilled out the "frizzen hole" because it couldn't be removed any other way, only to find out there was no charge in the barrel. So I've got this barrel, in great shape but a bored out frizzen and no matching parts. Are there any good gunsmiths out there who work on black powder rifles and can fix this? The alternative is to replace the entire barrel. I've seen a couple on Ebay around $200 with shipping. This flint-lock has some history to it, and I'd like to get it back to shooting shape. Any ideas and suggestions are much appreciated.
  5. My oldest son went out chasing quail and he brought back the "shared" 870 pump with no front sight. Actually, he had the sight in his pocket. I've got taps and dies, but I cant re-thread something this shallow.I'm in the Show Low/Lakeside area, and need to get the front site replaced. Any help is much appreciated.
