It was determined that the dog had been a victim of dog fighting and had been used as a "teaser" dog, other dogs were allowed to beat up on it to get the taste of blood. Sad story for sure, no doubt animal abuse in every sense of the word. There is an organization in the city this happened that has offered $27,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the abusers.(According to the report all money used is donated money.) Growing up as a kid, our dog got hit by the only semi for miles. Broke his hip, dad said there was no hope for the dog and we put the dog down. Another dog we had started getting into the neighbors chickens. Dad took the dog out and put him down. We raised pigs and cattle, we used available medicine for common issues but if an animal was "down", we put the animal out of its misery. Is it just me, am I just not sensitive enough to animal issues? It bothers me that so much money is spent on taking care of unwanted, sick, beat up cats, dogs, pets in general.
