My dad and I got up this morning with hopes of locating the covey of Quail I found last week while scouting for my Archery hunt next week. We got out to a spot I wanted to glass from before first light, as we sat there we reminisced about hunts past. I got out and started glassing towards the east, after about an hour glassing I turned to glass to the west and I found this guy. After fifteen minutes I spotted the doe he was intent on keeping an eye on. He was only 216 yards away, a slam dunk for a rifle.
We soon moved on down the road to get to one of my cameras I placed last week. As we approached the area we spotted 11 does standing in the road. I checked my camera and returned to the spot I found the Quail. Although my dad and I didn't find the Quail we did limit out on Doves.
Any day in the field with your dad is a GREAT day.
