We cook it this way also and it has always been great. It cooks more like a steak and not like a roast. It also makes a heck of a mess in the oven but it is more than worth it. We have a prime rib we have been dry aging and Saturday will be the 8th day... Mmmmmmm Forgot to add, make sure the meat is at room temperature when it goes in.

I am one in the same. He loved it, but found a custom built 308 with a Nightforce that he got a great deal on, so I bought it from him. It is a sweet shooting rifle.

I have a buddy that drew a tag for the Burro Mtn. area in unit 23 for coues deer. He was told it is a great unit for whitie's. Has anybody hunted in this area and is it as good as he was told?

He will definately hunt it hard and do as much scouting as work will let him... Walking to get to glassing spots is not a problem, he is a mule when it comes to hiking and packing. Gino, I will give you a call on Monday...

Congrats Vern.. I know all about not being able to shoot the yard animals. You should see all the quail I have to look at everyday and can't shoot them.

I have the same setup but with a VARI-X 3 and they are really light I don't know what it weighs but it is ALOT less than my Accumark. When my son was 11 he could pack it without a problem. Sweet setup wish I was in the market for it.
