A good friend of mine (a friend to many), and fellow hunter, had a Tragic loss in his family this week..... My heart aches.... I have no words, just an empty void and tears at the corners of my eyes. I would normally never ask and I will not explain, I only ask that those of you that can, will pray for our friend and his family in a time of need. Thank You, Gino

Dang, John..... U pulled down your drawers and Mooned the crowd.... and then got snapped in the Arse as you bent over to pull your britches back up.... it happens! Get over it.... You expected that everyone would agree with you and they didn't.... This is a forum.... people express their Opinions here! If you are not willing to hear the other side of a "hot topic" then don't be the first guy to lay your backside out for a lashing! You made a mistake, got a ticket, and was mad about it!! We all get that.... but you focussed your anger at the wrong person... and although a warning would have been great, I assure you that your mistake and the beating you have taken here has saved many tickets to other members..... so find some comfort in that. Attend to getting legal for next time and FUGGETABOUT IT! Hope to see you post some scounting pics next time you go out instead of a picture of a ticket! -

here-here TAM. It's not like it's a new law. You can bet your bottom dollar that 10 outta 10 folks that sheriff stops know they are breaking the law, and are hoping they wont get caught... or if they do get caught - they are planning to talk their way out of it. That's gotta get old to listen to as an officer of the law. We have camped in areas that have been SO ravaged by jag-offs who think the forest is their playground, dump, litter box, dirt track... I was glad to hear steps were being taken to protect the forest... that enforcement and action has to be paid for through license fees and violations - not warnings. If I got caught - and I have tried to fly under the radar a few times b4 I got my bikes licensed and insured - I'd take what they gave me, and take it quietly... rather than point out what a weener the sheriff was. I would much more enjoy reading about how someone, for no apparent reason, was were rudely confronted while obeying all the laws and rules... because of the uncalled for treatment the person being mistreated felt obliged to tell the officer to piss-up-a-tree... and there wasnt a darn thing he could do about it. I'm sure all the guys that said this sort of reply would feel differently if they were in the situation. If I knew I was in violation, I would have never been, because I would have did this mc plate before. I understood that all we needed was an OHV sticker and we were good to go. So dont tell me this garbage about taking it. Now I'm starting to get pissed off because people want to jump on the bandwagon. To the other post, that said enforce the law. Ya thats great. But I myself thought it was a waste of time. So you are telling me as being self employed having to take a day off of work in my busy season to drive up to flagstaff and sit in a court is worth it. Come on. A warning would have resulted in the same action I have taken all week with getting these bikes ready. Most of you guys dont know me. If you did you probably wouldnt say the things you are saying. I consider myself a nice guy and try to be cordial. I am sure that if this happened to one of YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS your comments would not be the same. And if it would be then you are a jackass also. I would never say some of the remarks made that some of you have to any of you in this situation. Everyone is big behind the keyboard though. I have on my desk in front of me as I type this a traffic citation from a Prescott motorcyle officer. It's dated 4/22/09. I was going 45+ in a construction zone posted at 35 mph. This area is normally a 55 mph road, but because it was under construction and I wasn't paying attention to the newly posted signs and I was caught speeding fair and square. While I was disappointed with myself for the stupid and costly mistake I told the officer I was in the wrong and deserved the ticket. I broke the law so I will pay the consequences. The officer tried to explain that if I wanted to dispute the citation I could appear in court and fight it. I told him I had no intentions of fighting it because I was wrong and got caught. I'm also self employed and will have to spend the necessary time away from work to get it resolved. Please don't call me a hyprocrite because I'm not! I'm not a jackass either. I just believe in honoring the laws. And please don't try and suggest that this is apples to oranges because it's not. It's exactly the same. Laws are laws no matter how big or small we may think they are. If a person breaks them they deserve to pay the consequences. Period. You are right I don't know you and I'm sure you are a good person, but at the same time I don't care if you are my mother you still got caught breaking the law and now you must pay the consequences. Tim, my Friend, you always say it EXATCLY LIKE IT IS!!! You da man! There are those days when I wish I had forgotten how to not be "sugar coated"! You said it and now I have to say..... AMEN and +1! -

Honestly I choose what camo I wear by what materials it is made of. Iwear Green dbl knee Carhart pants most of the time. If I wear camo it is usually Outfitter Camo or Kings because they have good (not cotton) materials that holdup well in the various terrain and dries fast. Microtex (from Cabela's) is the very best material I have ever owned. I have used it in the Outfitter Camo pattern to hunt in Alaska, NWT, Texas, Utah and here in AZ... the patern is good everywhere. I do wish that Predator, Natural Gear, and Max One were available in better materials.

I am disrespecting the profession. I have been on many ride alongs when I was young and have friends who now are officers. And I do know they have a job to do. But their is a fine line which someone in this line of work may walk. I for sure did nothing out of the ordinary (speeding) reckless driving or anything else but drive down the road. The officer also said in the area over the last year they had given out warnings. I replied that it was new to me which it was and I would comply as soon as I got home. I even offered to park the quads walk back to the truck and bring the trailer up tp pick them up. He said no matter what we said we were getting citations. And I thought that was a total joke. And that officer is an butt. Needless to say we found a similar story back at the store from someone else. I do not have a problem with the law just that I would have done this before we went riding if I had known. John, First let me say that I am sorry that you got those tickets I am very aware of the cost involved if they indeed make you pay the fine. I have bolded two of your statements above, so as to make a point.... First, there are jerks in every profession, but that does not make all the people in the profession bad or the profession itself a bad. You were handed the law by a guy who may be a jerk, or maybe had a bad day, but either way he didn't know you from Adam and can only assume that you are just like the rest of people that he deals with on a day to day basis that plead "ignorance" and hope that it lands them a free-pass.... and repeat the process next time. Now, I am in no way saying that was your intention, but if you did that guy's job for one weekend you might have a new perspective on the "ignorance routine" from the OHV riders. I have owned Wheelers for many/many years and have always understood that if I was not legal and got caught it was going to cost me about $1500.00 in fines, therefore we have been paying insurance and registration all these years and I have never been pulled over.... Knock on Wood! Having had 100% Legal OHV's all these years does not really allow me to be anymore sympathetic than your new friend at the County Sheriff's Office.... I am sorry but "not knowing" is not a defense. Was the guy a jerk for not just give you a warning??? ...well probably, but he also was "just doing his job", either way... warning or ticket. So.... I know you are now pissed at my opinion.... which is not really what I wanted to do but hacking on the the "Profession" because you were ignorant of the law is really just wrong.... ...and for the record I hope you get out of paying the registration and insurance tickets. -

Need Your Honest Opinions
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to SouthernCouesHunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
My $.02.... Mathews. But I also would check the others.... Some bows shoot better than others a guy.... You will never know if you just go buy what everyone wants you to. I honestly don't care what state I live in or where my bow manufacturer lives.... They are all American companies (I think?) that benifit your local economy in some way.... I have never been a Bear or PSE fan.... I used to like High Country and Bow Tech and don't care for either now... I plan to have a new bow this year myself and if I do, it will be a Mathews or possibly a Hoyt. You can't go wrong with one of those two brands... they are the inovaters of the sport and spend more dollars back into our local economies than all the other brands combined. ... again just my $.02!
