Well, I recently tested an STS 80 HD against my STS 65 HD in the field during the elk hunts and could not justify the bulk for what little additional brightnes I got. I got this same feed back from all in camp who tried both as well... So, I just sold my Swarovski STS 65 HD to a buddy and upgraded to the new STM 65 HD.... and let me tell you it is a touch lighter, they are boasting it to be a longetr lasting durablitiy, and the new look is nice as well and a few minor changes to things like the lens cap are good as well. If anyone is thinkin' on purchasing this scope for themselves, it is a Dandy!

Video for you guys-Encounter with Crazy Eye
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to Jay Scott's topic in Elk Hunting
Thanks for sharing that video with me on the hunt, Jay... that is Crazy! HaHa! Congrats on the success as well. -
In the past we have had great success shooting off backpacks, or double tripod systems.....both sitting and standing. I have just purchased the Claw to put on my Jim White head and it seems awesome so far... more testing in the next couple of weeks before the rifle hunts start. Hope to have 2-3 kill photos with this new set up by Dec. 1st!

Sounds to me like this might have been to separts offenders... one was more interested in meat than the other. I read in the news paper that an estimated 300 people are living in the woods, in and around the Rim Counrty? Where? I don't notice many... but those folks got to be hungry... Tough times. However if they are indeed poaching to feed families then don't waste ANY meat and leave the head layin'.... IMO.... I'm guessing we will be reading more of these stories as the winter progresses.

2010 Arizona Elk Hunt video in HD
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Elk Hunting
At first he said "Dad you have got to be kidding me" . I told him it was a bigger bull then what he thought and needed to get some confirmation. Now he says it just made it worse. Hey we all mess up, hopefully it will somehow make us all better shooters. The video footage was just to nice to let sit around. Lets have fun and a good old friend once told me, FUGGETABOUT IT!!!!! Gino, what do you think that bull would have scored? Eric, His 2's and 3's make him.... I'd put this bull at 350ish, maybe a touch better, but not 360...IMHO. However in looking at the video again tonight I did se where it looks like (as mentioned by others) that arrow appears to have hit low and left in the dirt...but hard to tell from that clip for certain. Again Very sorry that Eric did not get to ground check this great bull. G -
I have 300 africa pics... what would you like to see?

Congrats on connecting with a great bull.

Swarovski Spotting Scope Reccomendations
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to RoughCut's topic in Optics and tripods
You might laugh but I use one of those siliconized rifle socks. I snip the end open, tie a knot in the middle and double it ove.. cheap and works pretty good on my 65HD. -
2010 Arizona Elk Hunt video in HD

Great bull... Sorry Eric missed him, I bet he really loves that piece being on YouTube for the world to share his pain... -
Hey big G I would probably be offended if you didn't make a punt I would watch my mouth if I were you cause the next time I roll through Payson I might just come look for you with my butter knife The trainer has got to be smarter than the dog so consider the source. Heelers are smart dogs, there is no doubt there, so that is why those lacking in training ability choice them. TJ LOL!! TJ I'm right there with ya. And we are back up to two pup's for sale again someone was unable to take one of them. Butters.....great looking pups that's for sure and they are great with kids. Gino.....you know I was just kidding with ya. TJ Sorry guys... ... I did deserve that... ... but Heelers are the best dogs!

Nicely Done! I like that!

Thanks fellas for the support. For those of you reading and following this thread, you can read the anger in the words of the good members that were with me that day, guys that have a far higher tollerance for people than I often exhibit. My actions were heavily weighed and were caried out alone as my friends looked on.... this was not a rude prank carried carried out for fun.... it was a message sent with a lot of heart felt feeling. We as hunters must consider the weight of our actions in the field and it will help for things like this to happen less in the future. I thank ALL the posters and readers of this thread for being a part of it and hopefully taking a little perspective away from it as well. Cheers.

Blake, I'd like to share a perfect "guys" meal for stew meat that also works for roasts as well.... very simple. Add your desired amount of meat to a crock pot... max 1/2 full. Add garlic salt and what ever else you can find and add enough water to just about cover the meat. Add 2 sliced onions, 1 diced jalapeno, 1 can of diced green chiles.... and just about anything else you want to throw in. Cook for 8 hours min. shred meat and serve on tortillas. Add, cheese, salsa, beans, etc as desired. Enjoy.

What ever you do I'd not tempt fate by drinking that water.... every deer in your pics does not match! Must be the water! Great pics, Thanks for sharing!
