John it looks like that brown, left side is off the same buck as the white,right side... Is this the buck that stood up last year after the shot? Great buck! I hope you get him!

Man I'd love to get back into trapping, even with the live traps it would be fun... just not as fun... I remeber the days of a 100 traps per line... can't do that with boxes...LOL... One of these days I'd like to get a few and tincker a bit... I am disgruntled by the fact that I have to take some crumy class tho... ... I have a bunch of leg holds left if anyone is trapping private land....

That was the last mulie seen in that country in almost a Year!! Actually as Super Jumbo mentioned in another thread (about coues), but also applys to Mulies.... many find that densities of deer are higher the further south in the unit they go... I was once told that on a survey a few years back, "Hundreds" of Mulie bucks were observed on the North side of Rosey in the "desert" country... I have no confirmation of this... maybe a myth... But I will tell you the futher north you go in the unit the thicker it gets and it becomes much harder to find a mature buck. Any 130-140 inch mulie in 23 is a great buck... Although I have seen an occational 160-170... prety rare. Good Luck.

Big unit... Picka spot and learn it... if your try to run it all it will chew you up and spit you out... Low country is just a good as high, but high country is Way harder to hunt... IMO. Good luck.

I am up to 12 going into next draw and can't believe that it has been 10 years since I shot my Desert!! Rocky draw odds are sooo bad they don't even publish them...LOL... However we can all keep the dream alive by knowing that the year I drew my desert tag I had a 1 in 400 chance of drawing the tag I did... so it does happen!
