yard Sale starts at 9am...plenty of hours in the day to make a trip to Payson!! I know I will have cameras, tree stand stuff, and just about anything else thatI come accross that I have not used in the last year of hunting...
-
It pisses me off that AZGF starts the bear hunts sooo early... So Dam HOT!!! And the hunting doesn't even get fun for bears till Oct & Nov.... That is when I see most of the biggest bears I see all year... Not to say I won't hunt... just kind wanted to vent about it... I'm not gunna hunt till the 19th (still too early IMO), but really looking forward to the later hunts... Good luck you those of you that brave the heat this weekend... plan accordingly so you don't lose that meat or the hide... bears are way too cool to waste!

Thieves or just assuming??? lol If you don't want your face posted on the Internet then don't stick your face in front of a trail camera its that easy... and if you don't want to be accused of stealing a trail camera "once again" don't stick your face in front of a trail camera.... i would post the pics.... they didn't respect your equipment why give them any respect... If some one is just passing by then that's a different story but if its a full shot of some dudes face 2 ft from your camera for 3 to 5 pictures then shame on them.... hunters need to respect other hunters equipment.... Oh Contrary! I jump infront of every camera I find! I want people to know I was there and that if I got on their camera I obviously have no intention of stealing it... I have had people tell me they saw my pic and thanked me for respecting their stuff. That is how I roll!

Coues 'n' Sheep replied to bobbyo's topic in Classified Ads
This is an awesome deal, Bob! So if I come down and buy this you are going to teach me how to hunt down there in unit 33 where ALL the biggest deer in AZ are? I gotta see if I can sell enough stuff at the yard sale this next weekend to buy it!! I would be soo worth the drive to have an in on how to hunt those southern Giants! Thanks for posting! -
Well that Low Down Dirty.... Must admit I thought it was a coyote comment, myself! Gladd that got sortted out!

You raise a good point... and I'd like to clarify it from my point of view. I know that "my kind of hunting" (and that of many hunters) can be construed "only about inches"... however, for me it is about knowing that I bested the best...I have drawn my bow and leveled my rifle on many young bucks and bulls... it would have been sooo easy to pull the trigger and the hunt to be over. But as the Great American Indians “counted coup", I also count "the ones that I let live". I have been bested many times, made mistakes, been fouled up… it is the hunt for me… I’d rather take a chance at hitting a walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, than take the first easy harvest that steps out. You see I consider myself a conservationist, as well as a hunter, and I believe in letting the young one walk, unless I really need meat and those times have not quite hit me yet. I want to see if I can outsmart the smartest on the mountain, the one who has inadvertently fooled many others to get the age he is…. And when I do I honor that animal and I have always sat on the ground with the beast I have out done and admired it’s greatness and wondered what it has endured to get to the age it had. Generally age does equal inches… and no I won’t pass a Giant for the possibly regressing one standing next to him… I will always take the best specimen, or the most unique, as mentioned before… For if I had my choice I’d rather be taken in my prime, but I’m kind twisted…LOL. I also understand that no 2 people are alike… but it is what hunting is for me.

Great Post, Pine Donkey!!! My thoughts and prayers are with your Family. I'd also like to mention that all the Haters always seem to forget the dollars generated by these tags benefit all Arizonan's and the Wildlife in our state. I have never understood why so many allow petty jealousy to over run their mouths (and typing fingers) about this subject. We all have the ooportunity at great financial success (and the opportunity to spend that same success), but we make choices... I once overheard an older fella say to my Father when I was young...."Anyone can become a Millionaire, what are you willing to give up to get there?".. Those words have inspired me my whole life through... and I know that I don't want it bad enough to get there. My Choice! For those who have made the Status... I praise them for spending their success on one the the most important things in my life...AZ's Wildlidfe! Thanks Again P D for pointing out a rant that many of us have!! BTW... I happen to think it is and always has been the Greatest idea ever to have these 365 days tags!! They are awesome!!

I've seen racks like that before... Pretty cool, but I bet they are spooky in the curves, eh? All that weight above cab height has got to be like having a cab-over camper on board. Did you install air bags?

Hey Fellow CW.com'ers, I know that most of us have a few or in some cases many packages of freezer burned or several seasons old meat or fish that we don't plan to eat, even whole ducks, turkey, quail, rabbits, squirrels, etc. that may not end up going to the Taxi... Well I have a use for it and before you throw it out... and if you live within an hour & 1/2 of Payson, I'd like to take it off of your hands. I am also looking for livers, kidneys, etc... and uncooked rib bones & hooved feet. LOL... sounds like a strange request but I appreciate anything you might have. Thank You!

He's broke pretty good...woulda maybe been a 315-325'ish.... but a cool pick up head... I believe he either died for injuries he got during the rut or was mugged by a bear... pretty neat how I found that one.
