Gentlemen, Pardon my absence… life has been full and time has been short… I am disturbed and probably honored that you all seem to think so much of my interpretation of laws that you need to start an additional thread about it. I am also disturbed by the feedback on a personal level that I have received about this site… people are calling you all a bunch of MM.Com acta-likes… and that is very Sad for Amanda who actually mentioned to me that “pulling the plug on the whole dam forum would solve the problem.” How, so many threads on here have spewed a foul odor and disrespect of one another? Guys… that is NOT what the intention is here on this Forum or any forum… And YES I got my Arse chewed multiple times on a personal level for the tone I set with my previous thread… but I was also quietly praised by just as many for saying something that a lot of guys were thinking and/or questioning in there own hunting spots…. However, in lieu of the fact that no one seemed to share or care about my interpretation of moral/ethical on the previous thread, I find it useless and counterproductive to even begin to address the legalities of the subject. I wish to also tell you that I did not fully ready any posts on the thread that exploded unless I was being verbally mauled… and responded to those… which was useless in retrospect. I am sorry to all the good readers of this forum that they bear witness how foul the thread became. I really have no regret for the thread it self but it certainly got out of hand in terms of class. Other than that, the foulness spewed in my direction did nothing more that illustrate, from my perspective, the kind of people that will say anything to get a rise out of someone, protect their agendas’, or in attempt to discredit a valid opinion. As it was, mine was an Opinion and nothing more. The legalities of what I am assuming your questions involved are in general practice, at the interpretations of officers in the field that are forced to police complaints… So I would assume if you really want to make friends with you local WM or Forest Service employee hand them a sheet full of GPS cords to all the treestands you wish removed… and pray that none of them belong to the guy you handed the cords too. Furthermore, I have friends that have had blinds stolen multiple times… all the blinds were in place for no more than 48 hours, do I consider that abandoned? No… I don’t consider my camp trailer, truck, ranger, 4 wheeler, camping gear or anything else I may leave in a stationary position for my than one night abandoned… I paid for them they are MINE. Now if I chain them to a tree are they less mine? NO… but that tree does not belong to me unless it is a legal firewood tree and I have a permit, then it might be my tree but not until it is loaded in my truck which may be unattended on forest land while I cut on said tree. I am well known for calling a spade a spade and standing by it, this affair that went viral was simply me pointing out what I perceived as a Bad deal for all of us as hunters… a situation that could escalate into front page headlines if the wrong individuals happened to be involved. Something I never hope we have to read about in the head lines of any news paper. I will not respond to any direct questions on this or any thread because it is not my job to interpret anything for anyone. I will not participate in any further discussion for I have been asked not to create another “barn burner”… Anyone who wishes to chat with me personally may do so… shoot me a pm and I will send you my phone #. In fact the starter of this Thread …. Str8Shot … is also well known for his semi-abrasive and direct “spade calling” text… S8S… I did indeed attempt to PM and email you as you requested… neither apparently worked as your mail box said it was unable to accept. As a person and a hunter, I don’t hide behind a key board… I am out there and I am living it. My opinions are driven by what I see and the people I meet… I am a true blue conservative that believes in an eye for an eye and that hard work and personal sacrifice are what make our country great and are the only way to realize the American Dream. I wish no ill harm on another person only that they pull their own weight and let me pull mine. I am truly sorry for making the natives restless but my opinions are mine. I was asked not to post anymore on these topics or on this thread so I will likely be outta here for a while… I felt inclined to at least oblige you with the only answers I have for you. Farewell and good hunting… and hunt how it works best for you and do it without infringing on your fellow hunters. Good Day.

January 2012... You can't kill all year long if you don't start the first day!
Coues 'n' Sheep posted a topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
For some reason Jason & I started scouting and setting cameras in early mid-November... Come mid-December we were already seen a few good deer... By the last week of December we had a "Hit List" taking shape in our favorite spots... One of the prospects was the "Big 3"... a young deer with a long typical frame that made everyone question his score... I told Jason that I hoped he shot him before he walked in front of me, cuz I was not sure if I could pass him. Even if he was only as big as our lowest guess, he'd be my largest typical coues buck and I am a sucker for big typical bucks...HaHa. I had the Big 3 on my cams alot, but mostly at night and did not expect him to show until the the rutting got him to be a bit more careless. On Dec 30th I finally got a good daytime picture that confirmed in my mind that this buck would be in the 105-/+ range. Now I was really wanting Jason to shoot him, so I didn't have to attempt to pass this buck, since I really wanted 110"... I wanted to see what the month might bring down my trail! Opening morning still had New Years eve's final toast fogging my head as I strapped myself in, 26' up in the air... The morning was steady with critter movement... By mid-morning I had seen 5 does and the last two were way skitish... they distracted me with their white flag behavior and when I shifted my glance back to where they came from there was the Big 3 shadowing another doe and heading my way... and at that moment the thought of passing him was GONE! A long ten seconds later he hit a clearing in the brush at 26 yds and the arrow was on its way... a huge PBR style kick out and he charged right past me at Mach 2! It was over and he was mine.... BBD! I still gave him over an hour ... Jason & Justin hiked over to me and then I finally climbed out of my tree.... My arrow was coated solid red from tip to knock, the kind of red that screams victory, and the sign was as good as I had hoped... and better the further we followed. Less than 100 yds was all it took to find him, he had been dead in seconds after the shot. Hugs and hand shakes were exchanged, photos taken, and then the long pack out... I shot my buck at 9:50 am and got home at about 2 pm... then the celebration began! A huge thanks to my "Archery Coues Brutha", Jason Scarbrough, the most passionate archery coues deer hunter I know! And to all my family and friends who came to my house to share in the day, I am grateful to you all for making a great day even better! More adventures soon to come!.... -

Awesome! Congrats!

...and lots of lions... most find deer numbers low due to the unchecked lion numbers... all the Big Tom Lions that are still taken in central and northern 22 come out of there... the wilderness areas provide no reasonable access to hunt the big cats. The wildernesses and state parks around the state are what provide AZ with endless big cats.

I am posting a buck for my good friend, Gary... the story of a lil' 2 point... Gary has had a lot going on this year, little time to scout, and his fav hunting spots werre not showing him much kindness... he had managed smoke a nice Javi, but the coues bucks were no where he was. In talking with our friend, Mike, about where to look he had a plan to hit one of my old haunts and put a few tactics he and I have discussed into practice... He went in there and scouted, settled on a spot, set up a blind, and headed for home... A long work week later he was headed to the blind. His morning started out with a guy walking right up to his blind...(blind poacher??)... after the woods quieted a does drfted past, then a glimps of a 3 point frame in the brush as it trolled passed... Just a short while later Gary spies movement below him and a 2 point comes right into view... it only took a moment for Gary to draw and send an arrow... a short blood trail later Gary was marveling over the good fortune of finally having an opportunity at a coues buck this January! Congrats my friend! What is cool is that a friend of mine has pics of this buck some distance away before he broke... imagine what this buck looked like with 15+ additional inches of trash and beam!!?? Trail cam pics are heading my way... I will share them when I get them. -

Well the hunting has been hit and miss... There have been some decent bucks passed and lots of little guys passed. My son has hunted 21 days so far this month having passed several bucks between 90-100 inches and only seen one buck that was clearly over 100-105 inch class, but the buck was rutting so hard that he never had a shot even though he saw him twice in one day. My bride has opted not to shoot a January buck this year and really wants a velvet Mulie in August. Jett, Justin, Lucus, Brice, and Lee have all been hunting when ever they get a chance but luck has not put the bucks they are looking for infront of them on the days they are in the woods. Jason and I are wallowing in our early fortune this year and now I am doubly happy to have filled my piggy tag! This Javi is my first kill with a long bow and I am happy to have him! Not the biggest piggy in the world as far as age but a decent sized body. -
Way to go John! Great Buck... One of these days you and I are gunna have to trade hats, that way I can shoot a nice mulie and you can shoot a nice coues!
-
Way to go Brian! Those heads seem to be awesome... I really like how the opperate!
-
I am very against this... a coues can drop its full body height at 20yds on a 40# draw wieght...I have video to prove it... these animals are not 3D targets... Just saying.

Grand Canyon Wolf Recovery
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
These people will stop at nothing... they are scary and educated beyond their intelligence. Wolves in that region would destroy the wildlife herds from the Mogollon rim to Utah… including the Kaibab. -
Bravo! Simply awesome when hard work and preparation pay off!! Awesome story and Congrats!!

Fantasic! Congrats!!
