Coues 'n' Sheep

I hit a fresh set of bear tracks in a canyon last week...

Jeremy hung his tag on a Worthy late season buck today! As it turns out His best gift ever was waiting under a desert cedar tree today!!! Pictures will be coming soon!!

Good looking pups! They look like they are gunna be pretty big. I am currious how much they weigh at 5 weeks. We are hoping our pups are smaller than their mom but the big ones were between 7-8 lbs at 5 week (35 days).

Well it is official... Athena is gunna have Pups and Zip is the Daddy!! For those that don't know Zip he is my hunting pard and spends every minute in the woods with me. And we have been hoping for a litter from him for several years! I am Stoked!!

Well I had one family that needed to move to the 2013 litter list...so that means that I have one Male pup available. The disposition of these males pups appears to me fantastic! They are 5 weeks old and will be read to go home the first week of April. I will always remember that day... we heard her shoot, we watched her drive out... but I had not met you guys back then. A great story and a great buck and it finally got the taxidermy it deserved!! Good work, Pal!!

Congrats to my Hunting Pard, Jeremy! The 60 day drying period is up!! Jeremy had green scored his buck at 135 0/8" gross, and I had scored him at 133 6/8" gross...and we are both pleased with our taping ablities!! Clay Goldman of Mogollon Taxidermy was asked to score this buck for B&C due to his reputaion for withstanding the Panel Scoring process that recording period award winners must under go. There are a lot of Giant Coues in this recording period, and Jeremy did not know if his buck would make the invite list for panel score, but a Goldman Score Sheet will accompany it if so. Thanks Clay for taking the time to score this great buck! 134 3/8" Gross 128 5/8" Net B&C Non-typical Jeremy still lights up like a Christmas tree every time we BS about this buck and the hunting hours spent in search of a true giant! Wonder what next season holds, Pal!!!???

LOL! TJ... I certainly had that coming for the trash I talk about labs... The Pups are 3 weeks old today and are gunna be a handful in no time! This has been a ton of fun for sure!! Athena has been a great mother dog and I can't wait to see how this litter of pups turns out in their new homes!

15 days old and the red vs. blue "ticking" is begining to show! We are very happy that all the pups are going to be Tri-colored! All pups are sold and we have already begun a list for the 2013 litter. Fun Times around here!!!

Well the pups are just about to open their eyes and growing like weeds!! They already have some individual personalities...It dives Athena nuts when I handle the pups but I do it everyday anyhow... They are fun... their color is already starting to show a bit... but we still have serveal weeks before we can really tell much about that. Still have one lil' male for sale... everyone who has already put deposits on pups is counting the days. These pups are gunna be a blast in no time!
