It is a real shame when hunts go bad like that...

A buddy of mine and his brother, father, and bro-in-law all drew unit 8 archery bull tags.... His Brother was recently almost killed in a car accident and is still in the hospital. He had to have a life saving surgury to repair his aorta and will have to do a good bit of phisical therapy to regain 100% (maybe) of his walking ablity/mobility in the months to come. So he cannot and will not be able to draw a bow (most likely) and just walking around will be very difficult (or impossible) by the time the hunt roles around. Is there any way to convert his tag into a Champ permit for him or is it a Burnt tag if his ablities are not what they were come time to hunt???? Would the AZGF allow a crossbow to be used from a ground blind with the proper documention from doctors and such?? I am looking for ANY construtive advice here.... this deal has been really hard on these guys and I think it would be great mental therapy for this kid to be out in the woods on his hunt (his first elk tag). I agree..... I did draw an elk tag online and a deer tag by mail, with a money order, and I did vote no... I have nothing to gain by voting no..... I just get tired of everyone thinking they need a second chance..... you all sound just like Paris Hilton, Linsey Lohan, and Nichol Richie..... my goodness. If you screw up, own up! Learn a lesson and go on..... welcome to the real world. If and when I screw up my application one of these days, (and I'm sure I will, eventually) I will be bumbed out too.... and I will suck it up and move on. Right on, dude! My buddy that went to the show with me is about 45-46 years old and he rocks out all the time. The Squizz or Octane (Sirius) are the best on sat. radio!!!!!

That is not bad.... I have seen some self-guided hunts available between $2500- $3500. I would make sure that you are hunting a good ranch, not one that is all shot out. A friend of mine went on a deal like that last year and he shot a 120"+ Non-typ. and the guy he took with him shot a mid 90" buck with lots of character. Go for it! Best of luck!

Alright, all you reloading junkies.... ..... I need some help...... I am having a really hard time time finding any reloading data for the 168gr. VLD in a 300 Wby Mag..... It seems to not exist.... we loaded a couple up at 82 gr. of IMR 7828 powder and got decent results @ about 3175 fps.... I think that I can get better accuarcy and possibly speed out of it, as the primers showed no sign of cratering....? But how is too far? Any advice or info?? Thanks, CnS

Congrats on the new job. Are you working at the prison near the AZ border? I know a guy that works there named, Richard Palmer, that is also a Californian hunter. Anyhow, the world may, or may not, be that small..... Good luck with the new carreer. CnS

You didn't mention how much, but I would say yes.... If you are a good Coues hunter here on public land, and they help you get there, and feed you...... It would be the only way that I would do it. Good luck.

With that mentality, G&F blew it with the online draw, so lets give everyone who applied a tag....c'mon be a little bit realistic. G&F messed this one up and i personally think they should have to bend over backwards to accomodate the online applicants, stupid or not. Sorry, Dad... I didn't mean to talk out of turn or try to be funny..... I know... "I'm stupid, too" Please don't beat me...... I think EVERYONE who cares enough about whether or not they got drawn for something made very sure that they Dotted the "i's" & crossed "t's".... and payed the right way. I personally think that my buddy who entered the wrong Lic. number on his wife's applications should get a second chance too, but that isn't gunna happen....no cryin' over spilled milk. Lets move on. And I think that we will all see, when the stats are out, that removing the internet draw was in ALL our best interest. Or atleast those who drew....

I guess I'm ok with them getting a second chance.... as long as they have to wear their "I'm STUPID" signs around their necks ALL week long!!!! Not really..... they Blew it! Give the tag to the next guy and lets get this show on the road!!! They didn't give second chances to the people I know that made errors on applications....

Well. I also think that if you can find a well used wallo the week before the hunt you might try setting your daughter up on that, and have a closer shot. Best of luck.
