I have a house in Pine, AZ that I am going to sell. It is a 3 bd rm, 2 bath, with a large two car garage on a 1/3 of an acre. Paved drive and paved streets....... no dust! I have a current appraisal and can offer this property for less than the appraised price. There is great potential with this property as an investment or as a full or part-time home. It is within a 15 minute walk from the school, stores, and restaurants..... and a 5 minute walk from national forest! Please post any questions here on the thread. Asking price is: $230,000.00

Yup it is rough...... The mountains I was hunting were very jagged, because it was better for bow hunting (which didn't work out for me ). I hunted with Nahanni Butte Outfitters(Lancasters), a great bunch of people to be around....they treat you like family. The mountains there destroyed a brand new pair of boots in one trip... and I took one pretty bad fall. If you were side hilling you could almost always rest your hand on the mountain for support and you knew that one slip meant a 100 plus yard tumble, as you followed 4"-6" wide sheep trails. Walking the tops was the best.... but, you can't skyline yourself very often when sheep hunting. I loved it! You have some Great pics and memories, Jason! I wish that I had used my camera more on my hunt..... I do have some pics that I will share sometime. Keep me in mind when you start your reaserch for booking the stone sheep.... don't know if I'll be ready, but it would be nice to get some more info. I would look into a horse back hunt for sure..... there will still be plenty of climbing to do anyhow. CnS

OOPS!!! ALL THE AREAS YOU MENTIONED ARE GOOD IN 32..... ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GET OFF THE ROADS.

Man that would be cool, Jason. Not sure that I will be able to go that route.... .... I am gunna try to go to Alaska and hunt Dall again, and get it done with my bow this time. I've been putting in for a couple of limited hunts up there for about three years now. Who did you go with in NWT??? Was it South Nahanni? Again, Congrats on a nice ram!!!

Andy, I'm gunna jump in and give you my $.02 worth before Mike answers..... If you really want to be without power problems do both..... I had a 26' Prowler that had two 12v batteries and on cold nights the batteries would run down so that you had to manually start the Generator in the morning... I pulled the (2) 12v batteries and replaced them with (2) 6v bateries and my problem was solved..... It is amazing how running (2) 6v can be better than (2) 12v.... but it was for me. I always had the solar panels on that trailer and other than the Micro or the AC, we NEVER used the generator once I put the 6v batteries on. Good luck! CnS

Got my 300 Wby Mag well on its way to being ready for deer season. Had the trigger re-worked and put my new Huskemaw Optics scope on and we settled on a bullet/load that shoots well. The load is a Berger 168 VLD w/ 82 grs. of IMR 7828. I had to put together some drop date so that they could build the turret for the scope (included in the scope cost). I got to zero at 200 yds and then set up two targets at 511 yds and 994yds. I have never shot that far and don't even consider myself a shooter (with a rifle)... but I fired 5 rounds at each distance and pulled a group of less than 4.5" at 511 yds. and about a 10"-12" group at 994 yds. ... I tried to repeat my 1000 yd group with a second five rounds but I started to get a bit of breeze and I think I was getting punchy..... I'll never shoot a 1000 yds again, but it was cool to pull a group at all at that range. Once I get the new turret I will get her tuned up and try to improve on consistantly shooting sub MOA groups @ 400-650 yds. I also have a question for you all....... When you get tuned up for a rifle hunt what kind of group do feel you have to shoot at any distance, to consider it an efficient distance for you to shoot game??? Thanks, CnS

Hunter Numbers Drop
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Jason done broke de code. I've been saying this ever since deer hunting permits came into being. I t isn't just kids who lose interest, and it doesn't take five years. I know of three adults who were avid hunters until permit numbers dropped below 50,000 and they couldn't draw tags in the units they wanted to hunt. After three years of being told they couldn't go hunting, they stopped applying. Bill Very true and very sad, Mr. Q.... and it is sad to think that, that mind set is what is tearing us down. I can understand a child getting "board".... sort of.... but an adult that gives it up just flat lacks the heart and desire to stay the course. That is Sad... because we need those people in our ranks.... or at least their support. There is however no reason for children to lose interest...... there is lots of small game opportunities for Children to hunt.... coyotes, fox, bobcats, rabbits, quail, dove, and more. Take Huntn' coues, for example...... he puts his kids in for high draw odds hunts and they get drawn every year for something, he takes then bow hunting with him.... he takes them scouting.... That is all part of keeping them interested.... not letting them play PSII or X-Box in the trailer or watching DVD's... It is not the kids.... it is parents.... and their lack of drive to give their kids the same outdoor up bringing they had. I did that with both my boys.... one chose not to be an outdoorsman and the other is a diehard. In theory..... every American house hold has like 2.4 kids (or something)..... anyhow...... That means that hunters should be growing with each generation.... not shrinking. Parenting, parenting, parenting. Okay...done ranting..... thanks for listening. -
I, too, am looking for Federal 215's..... Will travel.... if anyone comes across any please let me know. Thanks, CnS

No hunter/trophy field photos????? .... Are you sure there was someone with you when that deer was "harvested"??? ... I mean after all... you do have a Dec 36B tag... Is that an imaginary friend... Congrats to your Friend, Casey!!!! That is a nice lookin' buck!!! -
Shorty, I have a huntin' buddy that has the 10x42's (or whatever the Leica version is???). He loves them, they are pretty neat and seem to work well from what I have seen. IMO... I just worry about having that much money into a range finder..... But, I can tell you that they are nice!

Way to go, Lance! Thanks for sharing. It is a great story, and I have always thought that any trophy that is hard earned is better than one gotten by luck.... Good Job.

Finally got out and checked one of my cameras yesterday.... after a month. It was still there... and still taking pics!!! Thank goodness for my "Bear boxes".... I had two bears in the area and one of them likes my camera.... but it never even shifted with the abuse. Anyhow!!! Got some good coues pics!!! Several bucks traveling the area and a bunch of does.... but one buck really got my attention. He looked even bigger on my 2" veiwing screen! So we went out to try and glass him this morning..... .... and found him! He was in some deep shade so the dige-scope pics are Really grey, but got a little video, too. He looks better in person and in the video, than he does in the still pics.

We are not sure if we will hunt him this year or not....we are looking at alot of bucks right now. He is a young buck with great genes and he is in a spot that will keep him safe possibly, forever.... My buddy would love to take him during his hunt if we can't find one better. If he is still passing my cam in October, my buddy might use the opportunity to hunt him out of a stand with a bow during his rifle hunt. Time will tell.... It would not hurt my feelings to let him grow/age another year. If we ground check him... you will know about it. -
She's a Shooter.... again.

Shorty..... the scope will run you a $1000.00 @ Best of the West...... PM me if you are thinking of buying one. Casey..... no prob on feeding shells from the mag to the chamber..... so far. Redneck.... The gun is a factory Mark V. I sent it to a place in Michigan called Answer Products, 5-6 years ago and had them go through it top to bottom.... install the break and pad (called the Answer System). I just had my local gunsmith redo the trigger (lighter) and put the new scope on it. Thanks for all the input, everyone! CnS -
Hey M H.... .. The guys in those pics with the Mathews Equipment (including me) talked over what you said about, " ditch that Matthews and replace it with a PSE Bow"..... and we think we would rather chuck our arrows like spears than shoot a PSE..... ... and probably still have better accuracy...

Well I am not all high tech like Jimbo.... so no video and no music... ... .... but here are pics from Jan. '06 - Jan. '07..... I thought it would be fitting to drag out some BBD pics so that we can set our goals high for the up coming season. Enjoy.... it got me all hot and bothered just diggin' through them all. I know most of you have seen most of these at one time or another, but knowing I have a tag coming kinda makes me koo koo for coues horns! Good luck to you all this year. May your Arrows fly true and your Bullets hit their mark.
