Ruff, Use a solid copper Barnes bullet for coues.... it won't tear up the meat.... and thus making the 300wby a Perfect Coues gun. I, however, am dying to try my Berger VLD's on a Coues. CnS

Sheriff Joe
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Sheriff Joe is the ONLY guy in the entire border region that is doing anything proactive about illegal immigration! He is trying to brake the complacent mold that our law inforcment agencies seem to have and is catching heck for it! I do believe that more people support him, than hate him, but you only hear the "Vocal Whiners". I think we could all do a lot more to vocally support this Sheriff and his Deputies who are putting there A$$es on the line every day out there! Most folks are afraid of being branded a " Biggot" just because they are not "PC"..... that is what is very wrong with this country right now. In a Texas border county near where I was just turkey hunting they have gone through 6.... yes, 6 sheriff's in the last year!!!! Why, you might ask.... They have ALL been assasinated on US soil by Mexican Mafia!!! Yeah, they don't plaster that all over the evening news do they.... And we don't have a problem with our neighbors to the South, in this country????? I am not a biggot!!! I hate EVERY human being that is a Criminal, or a Sucker & a Drain on our economic system regardless of Race or Creed..... it just so happens that in our region of the country the majority of that "drain" is coming from Illegal Mexicans right now!!!!! Yes, I said the "M" word.... because "Latino" would mean that I was pointing my finger at ALL Latin Americans (meaning South & Central America) and it just so happens that most of them are from MEXICO!!!! Which makes them Mexicans..... and that does not make it a bad word! I love going to Mexico to vacation and I like the Mexican people I meet when I am there. And I conduct myself as gentalman and a visitor, in Their counrty, and I am the visitor.... They don't seem to be nearly as courtious when they "visit" my country..... Go JOE Joe is a GREAT Sheriff!!!!! However, Joe is not getting my vote for President.... I like my gun rights to much... CnS -

Where did you ever come to the conclusion that there was Any integrity in any of us or our posts???? Look at the bright side You now know not to take the kids to eat at Pete's in Star Valley and you know a whole bunch about all kinds of different eating places in Payson! I mean, you did get some pretty consisant answers .... and some not-so consistant .... So where can we all meet you for dinner on Saturday Night..... and what time??? Almost for got.... Saturday Night is Primerib night all over the Rimcountry.... and probably everywhere else.... And that is a very safe menu choice at any one of the places mentioned on this thread (that serve primerib, of course)! CnS -

Sorry guys..... Those two SUCK.... unless you like a Greasy Spoon!! And I always get some mean old lady that hates her job, or life, or something as a waitress. As far as service.... I can tell you that the best two restaurants are Macky's and Fargo's. Your wife will enjoy both places. CnS Ever sit back and think that it may just be you??? What is THAT suppose to mean???? Take it how you want it....... Can do! Never had a problem with service at either place, ladies are super nice at both places..... Well, I have not been to either place in a long time cuz in years passed I always seemed to get "the mean old Lunch Lady" and I always thought the food was so-so. I don't know how it is at the mommet, I guess. Glad to here it is good now.... Might have to try it again for breakfast sometime.... -

Got an invite last night to go to Texas on a free turkey hunt in a week. I'm not prepared and I'm not much of a Turkey hunter, so your advice will be appreciated. I have a brand new 12 ga. that I bought a few years back at the Flag DU banquet, and I have Never shot it. Kinda had a lot of "spirits" that night so I don't even know anything about the gun... ....other than it is chambered in 3", it is ported on top of the barrel, and it has an "accu choke"... Just pulled it out of the closet for the first time today...... So..... What are you guys shootin' at the Gobblers??? Thanks, CnS

Since my mom got a new car I inherited her old truck which was the plan but we didn't think this would happen until this December so this is my new ride. I still want the scout though Guess your gunna have to buy a Wheeler to slide in the back of that truck so that you don't have to scratch that nice paint job up.... Nice ride, BTW!

You guys may find this funny....... I know this thread is way down in the archives now, but I am packing for Texas this morning and have been sicker than a DOG for 2 days and was lacking ambition. I was dreading having to arrive at the airport at 6:00 am tomorrow and the long day of travel, the work that might (or might not) get done while I am gone, and the rumbly-bumbly going on in my stomach. I for some reason found this thread again and read it and felt rejuvenated for the hunt! It kinda made me all warm inside to think about the girls (HC1 & HC2), and how their hunt was one of the funnest hunts I have been on. It made me reflect on the concept of what it is about hunting that we live for... and it is obviously not the Killing ...... it is the comradery (sp?) and the memories that will span our lifetime. And also, that the obsticals we overcome while hunting not only make us better at it, but also make the memories that much better, too! It totaly changed my perspective on the day, on the trip ahead, and made me all fired up to go smoke me a Rio! Thanks Girls! You made my day, today.... with out even trying! I will always remember this elk hunt with you guys... I mean.... girls! Well, you know what I meant.... BTW..... Your Daddy did a great job on your Euro mounts I sure enjoyed looking at them on the wall when we were at your house! Thanks, UG
