Coues 'n' Sheep replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
3,333 is my guess.... hope no one else picked that I did not read the whole thread. -
Thanks everyone! My wife is so thrilled to have here latest buck on the wall and is really happy with the mount. Hopefully, next weekend she can have an oppoortunity at her first bow kill.... she has always been a rifle hunter and I have have been trying to get her to pick up the "stick and string" for years.... I am so stoked!!

Chris, You had me pretty interested in your last post... right up to the part above. It can not be argued that you try to hold yourself to a high (or higher) level of ethics than most guys. But, you and I both know that you pull your pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us.... You have made and lost friends do to hunting or hunting pratices that may have been above or below your fellow hunter/friend's standards. Over time you have come into your own just as many of us have and live by "your rule book" just as each hunter does to some extent. But, to buttume that many use radios "for the purpose of taking game" is erroneous and kinda rude. I usually carry radios in my pack while hunting (rifle hunting).... but that does not mean that I use it for the purpose you consider radios for. And like you I carry a range finder.... that does not mean I actuall use it.... last year I ranged a bull for my buddies daughter using the paralax adjustment on my scope and she center punched him! Is that unaceptable???? And how about Pandora's Box..... shall we open it???? Do you carry a cell phone while in the woods??? Does that mean that you use in the taking of game? Does sitting in a ground blind or treestand ten plus hours board out of your mind and texting your buddies to pass the time count against you???? Can you hold a guy responsible or finger point at him based on intent??? Probably not..... I am not attacking you..... only stating a few points of interest considering the things we all do..... You started a barn burner thread...... ..... You have to take some heat when your standing in the kitchen! We can finger point to death... and devide our ranks all day long. This has been a great thread, and aside from a few emotional statements, we have all had very good points here and there... IMO. You are very correct in the statement that the record books draw a clear line in the sand.... if you want in, stay on the right side of the line! Many have no inerest in record books, that is obvious, but for those that do we can only hope that they carry thier ethics on thier sleeve. We, however, cannot deny the progress in technology.... and how it has changed our sport forever... it can and will never go back. Just as life in America, never, will be what is was 25, or 50, or 100 years ago.... that is human evolution.

Happy Birthday Dad!
Coues 'n' Sheep replied to little miss Huntn coues's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
Happy Birthday..... Ol' Man!!! What did you get..... a Treadmill or a walker?????? Have a great day my friend!!!!! -
Really this is where it is at.... bottom line. It is hunter envy..... we all want a 200", or a 120", or a 400" trophy on the wall. We can "what if" this to death... I bet that Randy would tell if asked, "Did you use a chute plane or radios to aid in the taking of that deer?" Maybe that is why they don't go in the book.... maybe it is cuz they are in velvet and only get printed once, maybe it is a lot of things..... Regardless.... that is a Great buck.... Congrats on another monster bow kill. For me there is one thing...... If I had 250-300+ days a year to dedicate to hunting and had all those resources and $$$$, it would be me you were reading about and B*t*hing about. I believe that given the chance, I could be the next Chuck Adams or Randy Ulmer... but I'm not bitter about that..... and if I ever win that Giganormous Loto I'll prove it!!!! And I bet that any one of you would love to have the life Randy leads.... hunting for a living.... I am very jealous of Randy's opportuny vs. mine..... but that is life..... and if he does or has breached a code of ethics to get that opportunity or keep that opportunity then he has to live with that, not me. I like going to sleep at night nowing that I got all my trophies the right way and I truely hope that he can say the same.... and if he can't.... well that is just bad Karma... IMO. Just my $.02....... BTW..... For the record..... I really HATE anyone who uses planes for the purpose of finding game.... ..... learning country durnig the summer months is one thing..... flying before or during hunts is just plain Chicken $h*t...... IMO. Get out there and EARN it!!!! Flying is Lazy..... just plain lazy.

Congrats on a great pic of a very nice buck!! The pic might be deceiving, but I will say that he will be in that 92"- 95" range..... Great buck! -
Jeff, I have a first rate guy in your favorite unit that will work his A$$ off for you! He is pretty well known for his bear and lion hunting and loves to have a few guys "on call" for cats that we come across while in the field. I'll give you a call or you can call me if you want his number.

Small world, my friend!!! The web makes it even smaller! Had a hunch it was you! Tell your Bride, "Hello" for us! How's the Boy? Still playin' ball, I hope! Mine is in Nor. Cal. fighting fires..... he is supose to take his cousin down to your neck of the woods for the Nov. Juniors hunt...... I'll try to get him over your way to look you up. Good luck hunting this year! And buy that Rino GPS... you will not regret it. It has it all! Later!

Word on the street is that in Gila county there are a group of teenagers & young adults armed with cordless grinders stealing anything they come across... I don't know if that is true, but if so.... there is no theft proof method that will beat a grinder......

Coues 'n' Sheep replied to GHOSTLUVR's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
OMG! Sure looks like him! Thanks Mike... Seth, Congrats on that buck!!!! I tried like heck to find that buck prior to my Oct. hunt last year, but it is so dang thick in there that I could not put him in the glasses.... I knew Mike had a pic of that buck as soon as you posted the kill photos! Small world! We would love to know what he scores as is and what he would have scored had he not broke. What an awesome bow kill!!! Congrats, Man!!!!! Gino -
Whats wrong with a little "city folk" competion? I would rather bring home a nice city folk pay check and enjoy the outdoors. Yeah, but only real men can live it.... and stick it! I've lived in the mountains of central AZ my whole life.... Don't think the city livin' ain't tempted me once or twice with the promise of a little more cash..... but I know lots of home town folks like me.... and I know they just hate sharing with outsiders. Nuthin' personal... not tryin' to start a barn-burner.... just statin' the obvious, that's all. Ward's..... You state a very true fact.... or actually lots of facts. Too bad they don't see it that way.... that goes both ways though. i know lots of city folks, myself included, that wish they could up and move to the mountains. dont think country livin' aint tempted us once or twice with the promise of , well, country livin'. and i know we hate people like you not sharing with us. what is there to share anyways, public land? anyways notihng persoal, not trying to help the barn burn down, just stating the obvious from the other side, that's all. The age old battle.....

Dude... You are out of your mind if you think Fuji's are better than Swaro's!!! You just got out glassed by guys with better eyes and lower budgets!! I have friends that can out glass the average hunter with a pair of Tasco's!!! That does not make me want to sell my Swaro's for them!!!! Fuji's are great when they are new but they fade really quickly if you use them.... and you won't even realize it. The life span on all the Fuji's we have ever tried was about 2-4 years.... Swaro's last 4-ever!!!!! Trust me.... I am not willing to part with a very well trained pair of Swaro's to down grade.... I'm just re-gearing.

Man that sucks!!! Well, best of luck with your new bank.... and word of advice....quit throwing F-bombs in public!
