I went fishing recently with my brother to a local pond full of bass and catfish. We had bought a bunch of hot dogs, and were hoping to catch a bunch of catfish. So I'm sitting on the bank, nearby my brother, waiting for something to take my bait, and my brother stands up and starts making a bunch of noise. I grab the net and head towards him. His line jerks, and he was about to fall into the water. The fish thrashes on the bank, and I run to edge. It reveals itself and, it's a carp! The thing thrashes as I try to get it in the net. I make another effort to get it in the net, and it thrashes and snaps the line. I almost jumped into the water to get it, but just like that it was gone. I felt so bad that I let my brother down. The thing was one of the biggest carp I've ever seen. It looked like a 3 and half foot long fish. Huge! I cant even guess how much it weighed.

Who here has had a HUGE fish on your line and it breaks? I definitely have. I was fishing on a local pond, and I had a worm on. I was roaming the bank and cast my line next to these reeds, and a HUGE fish takes it. I had a 10+lbs bass on with a 10lbs test, and it snapped the line. The fish was HUGE. Tell me your One That Got Away stories.

I'm new to duck hunting, and this is my first year. I've been going shot gunning recently, and have been practicing and studying duck hunting. I'm going hunting this year, and am pumped. Any advice?

Who here agrees that Remington or Winchester may be the greatest gun companies out there? A Remington has never let me down. Winchester is decent but I haven't owned very many. What do you think? And if I had to pick who makes the best shotguns, It would probably be Benelli, with Remington trailing beind it.

If I've got to pick an American rifle, that would be tough, cuz American rifles are very reliable. Colt I've heard is a really good pistol and revolver company, and Remington is get er done rifle company. That would be tough. The greatest handling rifle outside of American companies would be a 243. Winchester. I love that gun!

Wow, great buck! Good job! -
I just became eligible to hunt Coues Whitetail, and I went hunting in unit 33. I went hunting the day before and saw 16 does, and two fawns but no bucks. The next day the first deer I saw was a buck that was in a thicket of junipers. I went closer to make a 288 yd shot which missed, followed by another round which hit him.

Are you ready for the long shot? I am...

I took a 288yd shot with a 2.43 Winchester to get my buck this year. I was very surprised because my scope isn't a long range scope, and is only sighted in for 200yd. It was very windy, and you could hear the wind howling through this canyon. This is what I ended up with: -
I was out hunting and I saw a big 3x3 who was chasing away a spike and there may have been a 2x2 with him. He then got what he wanted, the doe. I later on shot him. But I was surprised because it was very windy and cold. Redington Pass coues Whitetail
