Not to hijack this thread, but can anyone tell me if elk are in the lower half of the unit in early October. My son has a junior cow tag starting October 8th and I am familiar with the southern part of the unit but just don't know how low the elk are at that point. Also, if someone could tell me if I might still hear some bugling around that time, that would be great. Thank you.

I have the Burris Fullfield II 4x12 on my 7mm. It's a good scope for the price. Would definitely recommend it.

Anyone know where a game processing center will be located in the Payson, AZ?

Whitetail deer poached in S. Arizona Arizona officials seek information on illegal deer kill near San Pedro River The Associated Press Tucson, Arizona | Published: 09.08.2009 SIERRA VISTA — The Arizona Game and Fish Department is asking for the public’s help in finding who’s responsible in the illegal killing of a white-tailed deer last weekend. Authorities say the mature buck was shot Saturday with a high-powered rifle from a vehicle on High Knolls Road, just east of Sierra Vista near the San Pedro River. Game and Fish officials say callers are eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,500 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for killing the deer.

Has anyone heard of any Hunter Ed courses that will be taking place in Tucson soon. Or Even in the Oro Valley, Catalina, or Oracle areas. I need to put my 10 year old son through so that he can go deer hunting. I have been watching the AZGFD website but Tucson areas courses are not listed often and I would prefer my son go through a sit down course. Thank for any help.

Need help with Win Model 70
Huntin'AZ replied to Huntin'AZ's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
If I find I can't use it, you guys are welcome to it. Audsley, do you know the length of pull on your synthetic stock? I am wondering if my 10 yr old son might be able to use it? -
Need help with Win Model 70

Thanks, audsley. So, you think they sold me the wrong stock? I am in Tucson, so maybe I will try to check out the two gunsmiths you suggested. BTW, I may take you up on your offer to buy your synthetic stock. The wood stock i currently have has some warpage. -
I bought a shortened stock for my Winchester model 70 off of ebay so my son can shoot my .270. But the stock that was delivered had a closed magazine that does not match my rifle, which has the floorplate cover on the bottom of the magazine. Anyone know if this stock can be altered to fit the rifle or am I out of luck? Any help would be appreciated.

I've been looking at different gun rests for my son. Has anyone tried these Level Lok products? http://www.levellok.com/system_accessories.html

I was watching Gore Tex Outdoor Adventures on the Outdoor Channel this morning and the host had a similar rest on his tripod. They were hunting Auodad in Texas. Anybody catch the show and know what that product was?
