I dont belong to the ADA but if I did I would be looking for new leadership.
-
I have attended the almost holy Catholic church in Tucson but not much.

Bogus points John: Did you heed the warning? I would suggest that the warning was stronger than you think.
-
That is right. When/where is the ADA meeting? How do you get a list of members, mr. President Bogus Points John?

4 FOREST RESTORATION INITIATIVE, AES INVOLVEMENT
ThomC replied to rthrbhntng's topic in The Campfire
I recently read a report on the Wallow fire that indicated that the White Mountain Apache Tribes practices of forest management stopped the Wallow fire from burning much of the WMAT forest. The BIG PROBLEM is that if you dont have the environmental groups controlling things then proper forest practices can be utilized. The WMAT does not have to pay any attention to the E groups. PS I was being very polite calling them E groups. There is not much environmental to them. -
Practice long shoot close. I like the idea of running around the house/archery range on a windy day and then checking your max range. It is tough to pass up a risky shot at a good animal. But, a true sportsperson will do it. Archery is a short range sport. If you just want to kill an animal then use a gun.

Javelinahunter.com has good info. Azgfd.gov has tips on 37b. Next week end there is a Game & Fish camp for juniors in 37b. Bring your kids, neighbors kids, any kids. You will learn a lot and have fun. Call 520-628-5376 for more info.

The 40 lb. min. was for recurve bows with wood arrows and self sharpened broadheads. In those days a 30 yd shot was a long shot. A 30 lb compound will do the same thing as the old 40 lb recurve. It is still the hunters responsibility to take "for them" a killing shot. Flinging arrows at long range with any weight will wound and lose animals. There will always be irresponsible shooters that will stretch the envelope, no laws will stop that. I am for less government control and more freedom.

In az the county assessor can tell you who owns a parcel. And they have maps.

Where do you buy the copper plated shot?
-
Wow it is not even deadline day and already people are talking about getting drawn.
-
Larrys post tells it all. No government cares about your hunting rights. Unless you have lots of money, then you can buy some. Ie: government or hunting rights.

Do guns reall "like" some ammo over others?
ThomC replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I even wonder if a rifle shoots different on a bench, on a lead sled, or on my pack out in the field. The best way to check is to shoot one shot per day using field conditions. -
Bad luck to your giants. GO SF

Anyone with a pioneer license should get a cow tag every year. Those that want a waiting period all you have to do is put in for a bonus point and wait for five years.

Safety and Common Courtesy
ThomC replied to stanley's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I find live shotgun shells all the time. It appears that some people are in such a hurry to get out of their vehicle that they drop shells on the ground. A cattle rancher told me that cows like to chew on shotgun shells and has found them in the stomach which is not good for the cow or for the rancher or for us getting access. -
If you are talking about hunting bows and arrows. They are very very specific to the person, kinda like a one man dog. I have read that most people will never shoot good enough to need the straightest arrows.

If Mr. Weiers really wants to help sportsmen and sportswomen then he needs to pass a bill absolutely giving the power to run the Game & Fish Department to the commission. No bill should ever go to the legislature without the approval of the commission.
-
Great summary , well spoken! This beaten horse is now dead! This particular horse may be dead but the commission has not received official conformation of such. So, we must keep on watching the "dead" horse and other trojan horses that will appear in the future. I dont think that the ugly head has been cut off yet.

I simply pointed out that the AZSFW was the source for the bill which generated $3.5 million dollars from the general fund when times were good. At that time the commission of McLean and Golightly fought that move every inch of the way. There was no sale of animals, please re-read the posts for clarification. For me at this point bpj has zero creditability. So keep digging that hole. And when it gets done fill it with water, that will help wildlife. Actually I will fill it with water. You just dig.

What do you wear on your feet for a stalk?
ThomC replied to couesarcher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Put the socks over your boots. -
Another thing that is bothering me is that it appears that the legislature ie politicians are micro managing the Game & Fish Department. The commission was set up so the department would NOT be run by politicians. We need to tell our legislators to leave the operation of the G&F to the commission.
-
Well, boguspointjohn you sound verry much like a politician or a used car salesman. I have noticed that you have answered only some of the questions and avoided others, or have tried to change the subject. Very suspicious.
