SD Backcountry Archery Buck (Kill Shot VIDEO!!!)
ThomC replied to ADDICT's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Nice, What part of SD is that? -
A young lady was test driving her boat when a Game Warden came along and asked to see her fishing license. She said I am not fishing. GW spotted a fishing pole in her boat and said I am giving you a ticket for no license. She said I am not fishing. He said well you have the equipment so I am giving you a ticket. The lady said well then I am calling the sheriff and accusing you of raping me. GW said, what, that is not true. The lady said well you have the equipment. GW said have a nice day.

Vail is east of Tucson. -
WRONG. I may be from out of state, but this isn't my first AZ rodeo. Please DO NOT turn this into a bait vs. not baiting debate. Please just address my questions or keep quiet. It is not a baiting issue per say, the question is who owns the land that you are going to place these pipes on? Private land with land owners permission then buy regular timed feeders. Public land then its a different story. You need to check with the agency that supervises the land in question.

What really bugged me was that phony little Pete Carol skipping off the field. He didnt have the guts to shake the Packers Coach hand.

What's your favorite binocular power/size?
ThomC replied to kazpilot25's topic in Optics and tripods
I have always wondered why nobody makes a small, light, 5x25 for short range stalking in the woods. The lens dont need to be perfect. Good light gathering in all that is needed. -
Yes good luck with the court sys. I was robbed over ten years ago. They caught the leader and she spent a couple years in jail and was ordered to pay restitution. Guess what, I am not holding my breath. Another one of the robbers was in jail but let go. They lost the evidence. A third robber is still loose. Probably all are still out doing there thing.

So you can block off access to the forest and keep the unwashed out. For $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Anybody answering with the land just added many $$$$$$$$$ to the price. LOL

Lets pick up those shells and bird carcases
ThomC replied to PRDATR's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Yes the opener of dove brings out lots of slob shooters. This year the long weekend will make it worse. I stay home till the slobs are done. For the next two years the opener will be on the weekend. -
Last night I was unable to get in the forums from the first DISCUSSION FORUMS link, but scrolled down to a smaller link and it worked. This morning I posted and the post did nothing. I refreshed the site and there it was. I was unsure it posted so could have double posted. Not complaining just trying to help.

I think that we need a discussion on baiting. Most of the nay sayers are just thinking about their method that they are using now. As more and better ways to bait animals are invented we need to get ahead of the game before it becomes normal and accepted. I would imagine that we could all agree that we dont want to be like Texas. The shows that I see on TV are not the type of hunting that I would like for AZ.

"Thanks for the info Tonto, but is awful quiet all sudden." I dont know who Tonto is but he said he was a WM and what he posted was his opinion based on a few years experience. What really bugs me is all the "experts" who only have their experience which was not as extensive. Even if you are a biologist you will know that every expert has an opinion. Wise people are not going to get in a debate on the internet with all of you experts. I try not to but sometimes I just cannot resist.
-
Thank you TR. It is wonderful when the actual facts are posted. I always thought that the people so opposed to baiting had a hidden agenda, ie. their bait pile.

The limiting thing about all these types of radios are the watts of output. The FCC says they cannot put out more than 4 watts. You can help by putting a tall antenna, but then you lose mobility. The claims of x numbers of miles are are basically lies.

Go before the Archery season opens. After it opens lots of people will be out there sounding off. My first thought would be Kinnickinic lake. The forest service road to the south should still be open. Drive very slow so you do not not disturb the animals.

Look on the bright side. Road hunters will have a tougher time. Real hunters will not have their stalks messed up by Roades. The Elk will be more relaxed because they are not hearing hoochy mamas all day.

Commissioner Pleads Not Guilty
ThomC replied to bonuspointjohn's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
How do you pronounce this word "Dicerctor " If found guilty he will have to go before the commission to be judged on if he is to pay "$250 the cost of one prairie dog" and loose his license. I would guess that he thought that he would get a medal for self reporting. I will also bet that he wished now that he would have done kept his mouth shut. -
yes we will. also what days you hunt so we dont clash. What I do is set my camera to black and white and take a pic. It gives you a deers view.
-
My take on this after reading the report that Mr Husted pushed this issue on the G&F. He insisted that they do something, and wasted G&F time and money. I agree "when does common sense prevail." And I wonder if the coyote that ate the prairie dog knew he was eating a $250 meal.

Sighting my Bow for G5 Montecs of Mechanicals?
ThomC replied to rossislider's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I too had a problem (with my knee) a week before ELK season. I went anyway and agreed with my doctor to just sit a water hole. I saw many ELK that were too far away to make a good shot or stalk closer. My advice is shoot what you got, take no risky shots, and enjoy the time out there. If you get a close shot, great, but if you just have a visual experience then you had a sucessful hunt. -
Holy cr-p. If you need phone service to take a shot then that aint huntin boys.

Hey John O, how much did the string run you? I live in the foothills and am needing a new string possibly. And Bull Basin is just strait down Alvernon from me. Eloy Foothills? LOL You need to call them as it depends on what you want. Last year I paid over $100 for a custom ( I wanted my draw length shortened) string installed. If you buy one on the internet then you have to install and set up. Go to Bull Basin, good customer service is worth more $.
