This poll and this thread is exposing the problem with clueless hunters. An opening of rule making is a government process of changing a rule. The commission only opened a process in which the subject of game cameras will be discussed. The rule that the dept suggested was a total ban but that could be changed or discarded. Granted the commission usually rubber stamps what the dept wants but if enough opposition occurs then the commission may listen. But, usually hunters sit around and yell at each other on web sites and then bemoan the ban. The dept is lazy and just wants to take the easy way or more likely the more money way. Take a tip from the libs march down carefree at the next meeting, circle the building with signs.

I kill about 50 a year trapping, and I dont know how many more with poison. It is a battle to continually watch for new holes. There is a guy on utube that has made it his hobby to test rat traps. I like the one that electrocutes them but it is spendy. Just like people, birth control is what is needed. Pine sol will deter them, wash my engine regular since my mechanic told me he saw rat tracks on my engines fuse box. Moth balls and ammonia will also deter them.

The average Joe Hunter is being punished because the for profit guides are flooding some units with cameras.

The lame and fishy banned trapping, coyote contests, baiting, road hunting. Little by little they are banning away your freedoms. Coyote contests are not wanton slaughter as one anti hunting person said. In fact the dept has been shooting coyotes out of helicopters to promote fawn survival. If the lame and fishy could actually think out of the liberal box they could have controlled contests to do the same thing and save money. So, they banned coyote contests for money but not regular hunting, then they could ban camera hunting for money, but not cameras for regular hunting. One thing for sure the dept like any government will be concerned with their bottom line first. Do you notice the Dept pimping their latest raffle, they are selling more hunting for more MONEY.

I dont need to hunt, I just put out bait under the lines and catch squirrels.

Ban guides using cams for profit.

It will also be illegal for a WM to take an animal in his/her unit or any other unit that they have used cameras in or to confer with any other WM that has cameras out in their unit or to advise a commissioner as to the whereabouts of animals that they have seen during their official duties as a Wildlife Manager for the State Game and Fish. 😷

A lot of cameras are put out by photographers. G&F has no jurisdiction on photographers. 😷

Since you seem to be an insider explain why the Dept. is sticking Regional supervisors who have the real work of the G&F to do, with this dirty project. There are lots of worthless over paid chair sitters hiding in offices in Carefree that do nothing. 😷

The commission should hold meetings in every part of the state if they want to hear other ideas than what the CC has on their agenda. Hiding in Payson means they are closed to any other suggestions. If the guides are the problem then it is the G&F job to control their guides. The average hunter is not littering the hills with cameras the guides are. For profit guides should have to operate under different "rules" than average hunters.😷

The unenforcable is exactually right. With only one under paid WM per unit there is no way they can control the camera ban. As with all "rules" this will be a feel good, look good, waste of time. 😷

Paying someone to hunt for you is not fair chase. It is no different than lion hunting where dog handlers tree the Lion and call the hunter to the spot and shoot the lion. Guides are locating the game with cameras and then bringing the shooter to the spot. The cunundrum for the Carefree Clowns is they get alot of money from guides and out of state rich guys. And the state gets money from the other things that the guides and out of state guys buy. The CC doesnt want to kill the golden egg but wants to keep it a little honest. So they use the sheep theory and ban everybody not just the guides. It will be interesting to see what they come up with this time? 😷

The for profit guides will just hire non hunters to run their cam lines. My daughter is doing a study of the left wing tit mouses sex habits. The lame and fishy is just throwing shoot on the wall to see what sticks. They will only catch the really dumb people anyway so that is good right? Will the "rule" fix any problem that they percieve? NOPE😷

I dont think that G&F even has jurisdiction on cameras. Will this only apply to people who have a hunting license or a tag for the area? 😷

They aint no apples or oranges in Bum yuck Payson. The commission knows where to hide. With covid how can you cry effectively with a mask on. LOL I wonder if the Dept. will produce the justification as to why cameras are such a problem that they are wasting sooooo much time and sooooo much money on something that is probably constitutionally illegal. People are using live cameras to kill fish for profit so what is the difference? 😷
