So i bought a couple Covert cameras and have been trying to set them up around the yard to see how they work. I set the first one for 5 second delay and a 2 picture shoot. the first cam seems to take a pic every 10 seconds or so regardless of whats in front of it. I tried it in 2 different spots and it still does it.The first place i set it, it took a pic of nothing every 10 seconds for an hour and a half. I set the second one up and it only takes pics when something is in front of it.The second one seems to work fine.. I set them both up the same...with the same settings and all. anyone know whats up or what I am doing wrong here???? I wonder if the cam is goofy or is it just me? LOL Thanks, Ron

Well I changed some of the settings and it seems to not take pics every 10 seconds now. I set up both cameras and one seems way more sensitive than the other on the same normal setting...? I will post more later.... Ron

Amen Darren.... You hit the nail on the head regardless what anyone says... Crowds are a big turnoff for me as well as many others Im sure. Quantity over quality has been the game and fish motto for the last ten years or so. Anyone who hasnt hunted for the last 20 years or so wont notice the decline in Quads and Rhinos all over the woods since the economy took a dump and no one can afford them high priced toys for recreation purposes anymore. Nobodys got any money like they did ten years ago when it grew on trees and you could borrow all you wanted. Gas prices dont help much either. then the price of elk tags and antelope tags go up through the roof and you now have a rich mans sport that wasnt meant to be one... Jeez dont get me started... I need to post on MM and get some attitude going... LOL Ron

Depending on grade, anywhere from 900 to 5000 bucks. Some yahoo's will try and lowball you on their value, but they are generally worth alot of money. I got 2, both featherweights, a 270 and a 243. Cant sell either one for the right price...I can feel it coming, the yahoos are warming up.....LOL, check out gunbroker.com.. they got em for sale. Ron

http://Slayed one on opening day with my bow in 24a.. I always have to shoot an arrow over the top of em to get warmed up then if they stick around long enough I can usually stick one. Had a great time till i walked up to the dead pig then thought " why did i kill this nasty thing!!"LOL Ron

My son and I have been chasin deer and pigs in 24 for the last couple weeks. We glass em up and go after em. Must have done it 10 times.... well we cant get too close cause he got feet like the jolly green giant and hes 16... he sure tries though...So the other day we are comin off a blown stalk on the same herd of pigs like for the 3rd time and we are takin a short cut through the thick stuff. Hes about 30 yards to my right and I walk up on a spot that looks like where aliens landed... Sticks moved around into odd positions, dried up lookin laundry soap type stuff and such. i walk right up to it not skeered or nothin and stick my foot in it and its hard like clay.??? So i think maybe someone was makin a salt lick. So I start lookin around the trees for a stand or somethin but theres none there...?? So i yell to my son "Hey Bubba, get over here and check this out!" He walks over checks it out and says " Cmon lets go, see that camera right there? Its prolly takin videos of us right now, JEEZ!" So right then I feel real embarrassed and say goodbye to the little camera about 2 feet off the ground all tied up to the tree......kinda made me feel funny bein on camera and all...But I read enuff on here to know you aint supposed to mess with them things... But I have to admit if I didnt know better I would have thought someone left it and maybe even messed with it .... so i can see why they dissappear alot... I have a good idea who it belongs to as its in a tough area that you have to walk in from the highway or have a quad for the skinny trail, then walk a ways... So today I see a vehicle parked where they can walk in to check their camera... And its who i thought it was,maybe its theirs, or someone elses....Do you guys get alot of people on your cams? I just hope I see myself on here, LOL... It willl be a fat guy in his 40s all camoed out and a kid with glasses, camo pants and a brown shirt...LOL Fat chance i bet.... But if they read this i bet they will know.... Ron

LOL, I figured it was your camera as I have seen your vehicle there before when I came out. I bet all kinds of things were going through your mind when you were walking in and saw all them footprints. I do have to tell you if I had not read on the site about game cameras and how people leave them out, I might have now known to leave them alone... Besides it takes guts to leave a 200 dollar camera out in the woods and hope no one messes with it. So the least a person can do is leave it alone... I have a white toyota truck, not a gold one. The day I found the cam there was 2 other trucks in the general area, both white. I havent seen a gold one, I did see a guy on a quad the other day.. Not many folks hunt there...SHHHHH...LOL Did you by chance have some cage traps in there lasst year? I came up on one of them and wondered who it belonged too??? Ron

U know, I have been hearing alot about ammo being in short supply. I went down to the local walmart and big 5 and bought 250 rounds of 9mm and 100 rounds of .223 with no problem just this morning???? Ron

Lost my job of five years January first. I figured by doing three jobs at once and holding the fort down while my boss went on at least 2 guided hunts a year was enough. Guess what? Not a chance. He let me go on Dec 31. Ungrateful if you ask me. Hope he has fun working by himself 50 hours a week...Jerk... I hope he reads this... Ron
