James, don't give up on the Sierra Vista area. There are quite a few bucks around it may just take some serious scouting to find there location. They are there and can be found, but it does take significant amounts of scouting to find them.

They are here in Southern Arizona also. Wife and I both got chewed up this past weekend. Counted over 100 bites on the wife and 30 or so on myself. I'm hoping it doesn't deter her from going out again.

How do we claim our prizes?

I have also heard that there are some WM that are looking at images of archery kills on different websites and checking to ensure that those kills are called in within the 10 day mandatory reporting time frame and taking action if they have not been reported. So make sure you call in your archery kills.

I would bet Whitetail. I see no mule deer characteristics at all.

Welcome and congrats on an excellent buck

Anyone using the Eberlestock slingshot pack that can give some input, I would greatly appreciate it. I currently have the Blacks Creek Whitetail pack and like it, but I am looking for something that can carry my bow. Anyone used both and have any input?

Can't really give the specifics on the rattling, but we spotted the deer and Coues Archer began to rattle and grunt (Modern Call Products Hands Free Coues Deer Grunt). As soon as the deer heard the rattle, he came running across the field at us.
