singleshot replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have a 67A Boys Rifle. Like you said it brings back a lot of good memories. -
That was a great deal! Really cool that a members kid gets this. Thanks for offering this up.

Really nice! Look forward to all your videos. You do a really great job of putting this together for all of us. Thanks! -
You have all the fun! What a beautiful job you did of catching the sun on the feathers of those toms in your film. It looks like you had a great time and thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Isn't that the same shotgun you put together for your Daughters slam?

Great piece of wood! Really nice and clean.

My daughters boyfriend a non resident put in for 2017 archery javelina on the same app as myself, and two other residents. When results came out I saw that I was drawn, my name was first on the app and all three residents received our tags in the mail. The non resident never received his tag and when we contacted the AZGFD a few days before the hunt they had no record of his applying for the hunt, but he was able to print his license which was purchased at the same time. I had printed the receipt with authorization code and they had a tag in the mail soon after. I tried in vain to purchase Point Guard over a several week period before the deadline and had numerous conversations with the I/T department about the re-occuring "Unbearable"page, using an Apple notebook. I was charged the fee four different times but the contracted I/T guys nor the AZGFD shows any record of my having bought point guard. AZGFD finally told me to hold onto my bank statement showing the $10.00 fee and if I had to turn in my tag they would make it good. I had 25 points for antelope, 26 now, doesn't leave a guy feeling very confident. I never believed others stories such as the O/P posted, do now.

Snow on the north faces, lots of melting snow and running water. Most forest roads muddy and impassible.

Get a quote on what you want from Rye and have Gila Outdoors match it or leave. Worked for me. Same deal, somebody close to yell at if you have problems.

I appreciate the positive comments guys. Moby has a meet and greet set up on Wednesday with a member here. I will be sure and let everyone know how it go's.

My sister is moving to Seattle at the end of the month and is trying to re-home her dog. A family backed out at the last minute. "Moby" is a 4 1/2 year old lab mix, neutered, all shots, complete vet records, loves to play ball and behaves well. He is big, about 100 lbs. Located in Mesa but we can work out just about anything.

I shoot 85g Sierra's in mine. Like others have said I can't get the 100's to group well. The 85's shoot really good.

I knew I was going to catch some flack over posting this. Fact is "Moby" has been very well taken care of. He has spent many a night in an expensive "doggy day care" while my sister was out of town working as a child advocate to make sure that our tax dollars were properly applied for State funded day care centers, for children. Believe it or not she's tore up about it. She hopes to do the responsible thing and find him a place where he won't be an apartment dog in Seattle.

I had to watch it twice. Great video! Looks like you guys sure have it figured out down there. Thanks for posting this and sharing your adventure.

I drive up to the top four days a week. The road is closed at Shannon campground turnoff. Unfortunately we do not see near the numbers of squirrels during the winter months. They seem to go into a semi hibernation. Aberts can be found from Arcadia campground, through Turkey flat and on up to Ladybug Saddle on the North side of the mountain also. After turning the corner at Ladybug you are pretty much on the south facing face. There is snow on the south face but it's melting fast and starting to get patchy. If you park at Ladybug and climb the ridge to the west that parallels the road it's a pretty fun hunt. You will probably see a few squirrels in the Gambel oaks and usually turkeys. In the winter Aberts will key on specific trees. Generally Ponderosa pines and Firs. They chew the bark all the way around on hand sized boughs and then cut them off to drop to the ground. You will also find the peeled sticks in the same place. It's very obvious which trees they are using. I think that these trees have more sugar for whatever reason and that is why only certain ones are chosen.

Spent 30 minutes on the phone today with their I / T guys. They have an unresolved bug using a Mac and Safari. Try again on Monday they said. IMAGINE THAT!

$50,000 reward for arrest and conviction with over 36 wolves shot..... come on.. nobody has that good of friends. The first time they try and convict somebody a DNA test will be demanded and that will be the end of the hybrid program.

Got the soft pak 30 which I really like, also got the Roady 20 and after checking it out I think I'm going to send it back and get the 45. The Roady is built like a tank but just won't hold what I need it too. Both are very nice though.

Watch out on the 870 express, the newer ones with the laminated or synthetic stocks. I bought one with the 2 3/4 and 3 inch chamber and the stupid thing fails to eject about half the time. I tried polishing the chamber and action and I can't say that it helped much. Went through all the youtube fixes. Remington knows about the problems and will fix it free but I wish I had put that money towards a good used 870 about 30 years old.
